We came across these tea rooms by accident but what a find. We sat outside in the Spring Sunshine with a view of the hills, watching the birds in the surrounding trees, listening to the sound of the steam train in the distance. We both had a Old Barn Special - Sandwich, Welsh Cake, Scone with jam and cream and... More

We went for the tea with welshcakes. Absolutely faultless. Proper sized sandwiches, freshly baked scones and welshcakes. A first class cup of tea. This cafe is situated in a spectacularly beautiful valley and is worth making a major detour for.

We were looking for somewhere relaxed and friendly to take our 84 year old neighbour for a birthday celebration and this was perfect. The staff made a fuss of her, the scenery is outstanding. Food was homely, very tasty and the portions very generous. A relaxed, farmhouse kitchen atmosphere that is well worth a visit.

We came across this tea room whilst driving through the Brecon Beacons. It was absolutely lovely' Each table was set with a bone china place setting and each tables setting seemed to be of a different colour. The table we sat at had bluebell china. Very pretty. We only had tea and coffee and a piece of home made cake.... More

Cold rainy Sunday when we called in for tea on our way through Brecon. One of the best cream teas have had for a long time - and being Cornish, that's saying something! There was a good selection of home made cakes but opted for cream tea - The scones were delicious - decent size, fresh and warm. And even... More

The Old Barn Tea Room is located in a converted barn set in idyllic rural surroundings near Pen y Fan and Neuadd Reservoir. We stopped just for tea, but were pleasantly surprised to see the selection of home made cakes on offer- so we indulged in scones , jam and cream too. Tea was served in bone china, and real... More

Having spent the morning hill-walking in the Brecon Beacons we saw a sign in the car park advertising the Old Barn. We headed down the road the quickly found it. It was a quiet afternoon & we were the only customers & got a warm welcome. We opted for an afternoon snack which was a tuna sandwich, some crisps, Welsh... More
