This restaurant has been closed for over a year. The former bar & restaurant at the adjoining Hotel 1829 is closed too. There are no food establishments on Government Hill now. Your best option is to eat at one of the downtown waterfront restaurants or nearby Frenchtown.

When we first heard that Herve, one of our favorite St Thomas restaurants, had closed, we were very disappointed. But when we discovered that Herve's executive chef had now taken ownership of this property, we decided to give it a try. We are very glad that we did. We were especially pleased to see one of our old favorite salads,... More

We are foodies and make a point to visit top rated restaurants on every trip. We obsessed over the menu for an hour before making our reservation. We were not disappointed. The wilted spinach salad started us off on the right foot with great presentation and amazing flavor. We followed with the garlic welch which pleased us so that the... More

Food was pretty good, but the place is on the expensive side. Chose here because it was close to where I was staying.

The staff was polite and courteous. I had the duck salad which I thought was greasy and overly fatty. My companion had the steak which was delicious.

After the grueling climb up 97 steps to our hotel for the night, the five of us in our party did not want to have to go back down into town for dinner only to have to climb the steps again. Chez Le Caribe won our dinner reservations by default merely by the fact that it was on the same... More

We just happened upon Chez Le Caribe due its proximity to our lodging in Charlotte Amalie. We couldn't have been more pleased. Everyone in our party of six all raved about their meals. And the view overlooking the town and harbor is spectacular. Service was warm and friendly. Highly recommend. Prices seemed reasonable for St. Thomas. One word of caution:... More

Looking for a really nice Caribbean meal?? Chez Le Caribe is the place to go. The chef is well known on the island and cooks up delicious Caribbean dishes for any palette. The views from the main dining room overlook downtown with the governor's mansion up on the hill. A visit to St. Thomas without at least one meail at... More

My wife and I had dined at the same location when it was known as Herve and the food, view, and service were superb. We learned that the restaurant had closed and reopened under the direction of the former executive chef, so we looked forward to dining there again. We made a reservation one week in advance by phone for... More
