Local Fare Reigns at Petite Pump Room

We enjoyed a delicious "local fare" lunch at Petite Pump House - an on the water restaurant conveniently located on Veterans Drive roughly midway between the bustling heart of Charlotte Amalie and the airport. We always head to the ferry dock early to get our tickets and then head upstairs for breakfast. When we headed back to CA this time the ferries were running on time so we had a burger and fries before we went to the airport.

Our party of four walked in around 1:30pm. The place was busy and we stood there for 10 minutes or so before anyone approached us. We were finally seated and waited forever to get our menus - I ended up going to the bar and asking for the menus myself. We waited even longer for someone to get our order,... More

The location and view are great. But, although it was very busy when I arrived, the restaurant literally cleared out while I was waiting for ONE sandwich. My wife and I were the very last table served. We were not the last seated. ONE sandwich....

We ate here prior to our ferry ride to Road Town and on our return trip. The food is good, and the service is as you would expect in the VI. The conch fritters were terrific, as were the painkillers. I enjoyed the crab salad sandwich with potato salad, Others in our group enjoyed salads and burgers. The bar tender... More

The Petit Pump Room is an ok place to stop for a beverage if you're waiting for a ferry to depart from the dock which is located just below. The outdoor deck provides a nice view of the harbor and it's nice to watch the coming and going of the seaplane that provides service to St. Croix. But, the food... More

A bit overrated on TripAdvisor. The setting is nice and overlooking the harbor. We had breakfast which was OK but nothing above average. The omlets were tasty but you could make them just as nice at home. I would personally find someplace else for breakfast.

This is always a good place to go for delicious island food. Remarkably the food is always tasting right and made as it should be. No tourist trap or fake food.

Great breakfast at reasonable price! Pancakes we're especially tasty. Nice outdoor seating above the water. Unfortunate ferry and seaplane engine fumes did detract a bit. But we'd definitely go back!

This locally owned restaurant in the heart of Charlotte Amalie offers a variety of daily Local dishes. I LOVE the Lobster special, as well as the OX-Tails. Their Pain-Killer is almost as good as what u get over on Jost Van Dyke! (Yummy). I've even posted pictures on my FB page.
