Good breakfast value, great ambiance, good service.

We went for breakfast. The ambiance and decor was homey in a beautiful old building with a lot of local artwork on the walls. We were immediately greeted with a warm smile. I ordered an ham & cheese omelet. The meal came with toast and home fries. The omelet was cooked to perfection. It was... read more

Great atmosphere and delicious food. My dad had goat in a curry sauce which was quite delicious. Hope to come back here someday.

I originally made a list of restaurants that I wanted us to try while on our honeymoon; Gladys' Cafe was on top of that list. With the best authentic cuisine, affordable, and beautiful location, we enjoyed our meals and miss the options from the island!

We were told by the locals, this is a place to check out for food. However it's a cute restaurant, you walk through an alley (alley is safe, alot of restaurants along the way) to get to it. I love the atmosphere. However the food was not that great. We wanted fresh fry fish, but they didn't have any. I... More

Walking down the historic alley toward Gladys', my daughter and I were anticipating a great dining experience. After all, Gladys' had been recommended to us. Walking through the door, the decor of old Charlotte Amalie was everywhere. "I'm likin dis place!" I said in my best effort to sound local. I ordered the pan fried grouper and my daughter, the... Tucked into a narrow passage behind waterfront glitz is Gladys, a quiet treasure. We arrived just at closing the first time but were recognized and welcomed back after that. The ambience is old fashioned with a clean, polished look to it. We ordered fish with creole sauce and thought the fish was perfectly preparing. The sauce didn't stand up to... More

This is the best place to enjoy local food, good food, great staff and a singing owner..you'd swear is was "the other Gladys" behind the bar mixing fantastic bloody marys!..This Gladys doesn't sing at "night" but she is there during the day to sing along with the background music and lightent the whole place! Hearing her sing at Christmas time... More

This restaurant came recommended from our visit to Eden Jewelry and it did not disappoint. I had the curry goat and it tasted just like I had hoped. The curry was not overwhelming and the goat was not gamey. I used some of the home made pepper sauces and they added another dimension to the dish that really enhanced the... More
