Granted it was very late in the day.. We were looking forward to this. We ordered the bowl of Conch Chowder and two sandwiches. My wife had the Chicken Salad Sandwich and I had a Corned Beef. Both sandwiches were fine and the Chicken Salad was quite good. I would never hold an island sandwich to Big City American Deli... More

This was the first restaurant we ate at during our stay last week. The food is of local cuisine....and was fabulous!... We had the curry chicken and rosti and the lobster salad...and both were spot on. The service was great, clean restaurant and overall a welcoming experience. Will be back for lunch on our next stay in St. Thomas.

These previous reviews must have been written when the cruise ships were in town. I went on a Saturday and the food, service and establishment are awful. First of all, it is not very clean as indicated by the cobwebs on the light fixtures and the heavy coating of dust on all of the pictures on the walls. The service... More

Gladys' is tucked away in a quiet cul de sac and is recommended for a quiet bloody mary and a wide range of good food served with style.

In general, my husband and I found the food to be good, but not necessarily standout out delicious. However, the Conch Chowder at Gladys' is the best we had on the island. Worth hitting this restaurant just for that. Also, the atmosphere is quaint and cool.

There is absolutely NOTHING to dislike about Gladys unless you hate waiting in line to get in! The food is great and the service is warm. This spot is located in the alley but everyone knows where it is. Very cozy spot and the art on the walls are beautiful. Don't leave until you purchased the hot sauce;-)

Our taxi driver recommended this location and he was spot on! While the service is slow the food was good. A break from the heat was nice.

Not easy to find, but worth the looking! Asked a local in the market where did he eat and he suggested Gladys'. We had oxtails, beans, rice, beef tips, rice & peas. Flavorful and fulfilling. Gladys even stopped by the table to say hello! No restrooms inside...they are out of the main building to the left. There is an attendant... More

On cabbie recommendation, went to Gladys for lunch! Had guacamole & chips to start. Simply Delicious! Get it when avocados in season on Island. Then goat stew with all the trimmings. Wow! Such a great meal with the sweetest, most accommodating folks. Had local art on the walls & could have talked all afternoon! Make it one of your meals... More

We would never have found Gladys' if not for the advice of our cab driver, Isaiah. Hidden in a narrow alley between the harbor front highway and Main Street, Gladys' is a respite from the tourist-centric island bars that permeate Charlotte Amalie. Gladys, herself was behind the bar, and delighted us in her singing along with jazz standards on her... More
