Best food I had during my trip

Local people recommend this restaurant as they say the owner puts her heart in the food to include the flavors of the Caribbean. Went for lunch and had conch fritters, Soursop drinks, jerk chicken and Curry chicken. All the food was fresh and delicious; even the sides (rice and beans, plantain... read more

When you are greeted by proprietor Gladys you are instantly warmed by her smile and and impressed by her enthusiasm. Gladys' Cafe has been a local island favorite for decades. Her dishes are authentic and sure to please. The conch is exceptional and my favorite is the stewed chicken. The ambiance compliments the food - you'll find in an .alley... More

Out party of 13 arrived for lunch at Gladys's after some major shopping in St. Thomas. A bit difficult to find, there are signs, and plenty of people to ask to guide your way. Tucked down one of the old alleys in the beautiful stone buildings of Royal Dane Mall in downtown this was worth the stop. We had not... More

2nd time in St. Thomas couldn't wait to go back to Gladys' Cafe. Had breakfast this time around & it was good standard fair breakfast offerings. Their real claim to fame is their lunch offerings. The stuffed avocados are wonderful with lots of local flavor!

It was hard for us to find because it's located in a hidden walkway between two streets. The walkway was lined with Beautiful stone and historic dutch architecture, which to me made the adventure finding the cafe more exciting. We had a lovely waitress named paula. She was very up beat, friendly and accommodating to all the guests that were... More

What a fabulous old town restaurant. Great find, and perfect for lunch. We enjoyed watching the locals come and go. The brick wall atmosphere added to the charm. Great wraps and salad selections. This was our first lunch on the island and we weren't disappointed!

Had the ham and cheese omelette. The house made hot sauce was a great compliment to a wonderfully made breakfast. Nice atmosphere and Paulina was very kind and helpful.

We stumbled upon Gladys' at lunch time and were very pleased with meals and the service! Can't put gratuity on a credit card which is inconvenient but the food was excellent!

After reading all the grate reviews, we decided to give Galdy's a try for lunch while we were shopping in downtown Charlotte Amalie. The restaurant is cheerful with a fun atmosphere. We had a party of 5 who ordered: Goat curry, Chicken Rotti and the salmon burger. The Goat curry was fantastic and the Chicken Rottie was one of the... More
