We had a one day stop off the cruise ship. After exploring the island for most of the day, the four of us were hungry, but not famished. We wanted to have lunch where locals would go. We asked the manager of a gift shop where SHE would go to have lunch: "Make a right, go down three alleys and... More

We arrived just before 11am, not sure what we would find. "A" had the omelette and "N" had the french toast. Both were very good so the daughters were happy. We opted to order from the lunch menu. I had the chicken curry (it came with peas & rice, mac & cheese, plantains, and sweet potato) and my wife had... More

I was told by a friend to make sure I stopped there. The food is very good, the staff is very friendly. If you like bare brick walls and historical buildings, you'll love it.

The staff was very sweet and accommodating. Drinks and appetizers came quickly. The fritters were amazing! Every special request we made was taken care of and so were we. The staff was super attentive and food was delicious. I highly recommend eating here if you want to enjoy great food in a warm, inviting environment.

Gladys' Cafe was our taxi drivers' recommendation for if we had a taste for some local food. Although not water front dining, the location is down one of those cool, St. Thomas passage ways. The walls are original brick and stone which gives it a great feel. Gladys was there, behind the bar, singing with her eclectic mix of tunes.... More

We love Glady's for breakfast but this year we tried it for lunch. The avocado stuffed with lobster was not available so my wife settled for tuna. It was superb. I found the curry chicken with rice and peas to be delicious. Very large portion of food. It wasn't as spicy as I suspected, but the 4 choices of housemade... More

We arrived expecting to have a wonderful lunch. The lady that seated us was very cheerful and polite. Our server arrived and we first explained we would like 2 checks. She said I don't like doing this but I guess I can. Then we placed our drink orders. She never smiled. I finally asked her if she could just smile... More

Each time we visit St. Thomas on a cruise, we plan our day around eating lunch at Gladys' Café. It was first recommended to us by a local shop keeper. We loved the food and atmosphere. Can be quite crowded if there are several ships in port. For local food, it is one of the best in the Caribbean.
