A must for lunch and take out

The best rotisserie chicken on the island hands down, and don't forget the johnny cakes which are to die for. I am willing to bet just like us, you will have to visit more than once during your stay. Make sure you arrive hungry!! Plus you get to eat out doors!

Delicious roasted chicken and tasty side dishes in a very casual restaurant. Certainly a favorite of the locals and also tourists lucky enough to have "sniffed" it out thanks to Tripadvisor. Would have loved to come back and second and third time!

Sometimes it takes a little time to get use to a different kind of cuisine away from home. This was not a problem at the Chicken Shack! Cooked to perfection with flavor galore, it became my go-to spot in St. Croix! Delicious sides and a different kind of bread that was delicious, I couldn't stay away. The only downside was... More

When traveling we like to eat where the locals go, La Reine definitely fits the bill. Stopped by at 5pm for 1/2 chicken dinner plates complete with red beans, rice and lettuce salad. Note this is cash-only, and make sure to peek in the back to see the chickens lined up roasting on a spit. This an open-air restaurant/bar, and... More

This is a must try! Excellent chicken and ribs in a very casual environment! We usually swing by on our way to the beach to grab lunch! Delish!!

Stopped by here and ordered breakfast to go. The food took 30 minutes and was not any better than IHOP. Actually IHOP would have been better. We were definitely disappointed, hopefully dinner is better.

I have never had chicken like chix from Chicken Shack. Everyone said we needed to stop there and glad we did. They give a NEW meaning TO FINGER LICKING GOOD. Knocked out buying fresh fish next door on Wednesday afternoon (only) and going across the street to Pueblo for groceries and liquor. A must stop!!

Take the basic Caribbean food plate of rice, beans, and a vegetable or salad with meat or fish of your choice, then turn the flavors up several notches, now serve gargantuan portions under a covered open air patio. Nothing fancy here, it is all about the food. Too many choices to list but we chose familiar taste of smoked chicken... More

And the conch stew is sensational. This cash only road side stand is hopping every single minute it is open. Every local and well informed tourist on the island heads to Le Reine for lunch. The ambiance would not be why you go. This is a food only experience. Order the half chicken special and they will throw in 2... More

While on our Cruzan Rum tour and tasting, it was suggested to do our dinner at La Reine. Supposedly, Martha Stewart even ate there once! Fun, eclectic, a neighborhood hanging place! Great large serving of the half roasted chicken with rice, beans and salad. Ribs, goat stew and other items are on the menu. Full bar and music playing! Fun!
