Stayed at the Carambola resort over Christmas vacation. Had a home on the golf course. Beautiful setting. Beach was ten minute drive up and over the mountain. No major highways, but access is easy. We stayed in the hotel in Sep 2008 during the low season, the hotel is very big and has one of the best beaches in St.Croix for snorkelers. Beautiful resort we were celebrating our anniversary. The Food was excellent and fairly priced according the setting. There were several other places we ate out in with plastic tables and paper napkins with the same prices as the carambola resort. Friendly wait staff & bar servers. The view is breathtaking the Oceanside Suites are totally worth the extra money, the staff was friendly, but...one late afternoon on our 3rd day there we decided to head to the beach, we were in the first building closest to the beach, the maid had been to the room at least 8 hours... more
