Birthday Dinner

Maybe because it was a Monday, when my friends and I visited, the restaurant was empty and we loved it! The food was great, a fair amount of vegetarian options and the service was good as well. They are a bit pricey however. It was worth trying but I will only go back if I've really got a hankering... read more

This place is an oasis on the out skirts of Port of Spain with a nice atmosphere and even better food with that great Thai flavor. Can’t wait to return

They are currently doing a face lift to the front so we weren't able to dine outside so we went inside. The place was beautiful inside but very very very quiet. I felt as if I was in school and had to remain constantly quiet. It was soo quiet we heard everything the waiteress' said at the back otherwise the... More

I have dined at this restaurant for approximately 10 years and I gave it rave reviews in 2011. However, something changed. 1) Reservation: Called to make booking and spoke to a member of staff, who then handed me over to another member of staff, who then handed me over to a third member of staff. 2) Arrival/Welcome: Arrived 10 mins... Every now and again, I visit Thamnak Thai because I like to have something rich, exotic and flavorful. I get that at Thamnak. With this being said, I can agree with many patrons that the food is pricey, but because of the taste, I don't mind doing it. I've only sat down and dined twice, and the ambience was lovely,... I dined hear about a year ago and was quite satisfied with the fare then. Last week I had the misfortune of having lunch here.I had fish which was of a lesser quality than what I would cook myself and I am no chef. My date enjoyed her few shrimps. The food was very overpriced. Obviously I paid for the... More

This area of Trinidad is a good place to be if you're going out for a meal drinks. The food here is good & don't be afraid to ask questions because the staff is friendly. It is also nice that this is within a short drive or cab ride of some of the better bars & clubs in Trinidad.

The service we experienced here on Father's Day 2014 surpassed all expectations. In Trinidad, most fine dining restaurants are not infant friendly (ie. no high chairs and changing facilities) and Tamnak Thai was no different. However, the accommodations the staff (Sarika) made to ensure that our experience was comfortable and our baby had a safe and private space, other than... More

We visited Tamnak Thai on our trip. We were able to get there from our hotel by walking. We had some yummy spring rolls and enjoyed our plates with pad thai and stuffed squid. However, it was extremely expensive and it cost about $80 for two people. There are probably cheaper places to eat at.
