Best Local Cuisine

A true Trini dining experience...not air conditioned but always a good breeze. Local delicacies are always top-notch.

We have eaten here on several trips to Trinidad and it never disappoints. I love the Caribbean atmosphere of the restaurant in a house with open window and ceiling fans (no air conditioning but that does not bother me). The food is exquisite Creole and the grilled shrimp with tamarind sauce is out of this world. Service is excellent and... More

I have had dinner several times at this restaurant. Every time we experienced excellent food and excellent service. The paintings are beautiful and Rosa makes you feel like home.

A old wooden house in the lively Ariapita Avenue, creole visual art (mainly from Haiti) and creole food. A lot of people, a pleasant service and prices that you would not consider high.

This establishment was recommended to our group by two different local people. Our group of nine received a very warm welcome upon entering the restaurant. The meal was pretty good, even if cost seemed a bit high. The issue came when we received our bill. We had neglected to ask for separate checks and the server flat-out refused to split... More

The place is recommended. There were 6 of us and so we had a chance to try lots of different dishes, they were all quite good.

I was very impressed! The service was impeccable, meal delicious, and atmosphere charming. In a country where customer service has left much to be desired, Rose and her staff have raised the bar.

We had a really nice meal here. It's an interesting restaurant with an eclectic range of artwork on the walls. Average prices.

Went for dinner on a Friday night with a friend. We were both wanting to try local food. The restaurant is very eclectic and I loved the casual atmosphere. It is upstairs, so if you have mobility issues, please be aware of this. The owner, Rose, was there immediately to greet us. She was lovely. That's about where it ended.... More

If you plan to spend some time in Port-of-Spain, make Veni Mange a top priority when considering dining out. Whereas most restaurants offer some version of "foreign foods", Veni Mange offers authentic Caribbean cuisine. Step up from the doubles vendors and roti shops to enjoy excellent and warm service. The interior is colourful but tastefully decorated, with Haitian art (for... More
