This restaurant was founded by Allyson Hennessy and her sister,Rose Hezekiah. It starts from the greeting at the door when you feel like an old family friend. Many lunches taste like homemade; stew chicken, plantains fried to bring out their sweetness, my mouth waters and food is seasonal...so freshness is guaranteed. Allyson may have left us, but Rose has maintained the... More

Taken there by my great friend, a local. Everything you ever wanted from the excellent food personally and creatively spiced and sauced, the eclectic interior, every table and chair a different rainbow, no different to the clothing of the owner and her assistants making sure your plate is full (maybe you should try a little this?) and your drinks attended... Found this place online and it was a real treasure. Tasty local dishes served by very friendly and attentive staff. Only open Wednesday and Friday evenings and reservations are advised to be sure of getting in.

Veni Mange stands out in Port of Spain. Lovely open dining with the warm breeze to keep you company instead of freezing air conditioning. The décor invites conversation, tables all painted different colour, local and Caribbean art on the walls (all for sale) and then the menu choices... excellent local food cooked to the highest standard with something for everyone... Veni Mange is a wondrous and unpretentious place to spend and evening and enjoy a great meal. This is a must stop for all visitors to T&T as Veni is a true representation of the people and pallet of Trinidad and Tobago. Firstly the welcome by Roses is warm and inviting and the food with its focus on taste (... More

I was recently in Port of Spain for 5 days putting on a conference. I had to ensure my group of ten people got to enjoy a traditional Caribbean meal/setting for one evening. Through a bunch of online research, I came accross Veni Mange. I sent an email requesting a reservation and Rosemary responded to me within 24hours. The restaurant... More

Three of us UK visitors enjoyed the tasty local food, friendly welcome from Roses and her staff, fun atmosphere, interesting decoration and best wine we had in T&T. It wasn't too expensive either. By the time we left the place was full with a buzz of chat. Will go again

I was recently taken here for lunch. A nice welcoming and colourful restaurant. Good local food and quick service. Nice desserts. Good sized portions and not expensive. Would recommend and come back. I would not say very good or excellent but good. Shame about the rating scales on Tripadvisor!

Came to show a french (!) friend the quality of Trini food and service and it was worth it. We came without reservation, bit the owners are so carefully into their business that they discerned the origin of our cab and of course had a table for two. I love not being chilled to death by aircon and had a... More
