The Hidden Gem of Port Elizabeth

For more than a decade I have been to Bequia almost on a monthly basis and never noticed this fabulous restaurant, located on the far side of Admiralty Bay, away from the trodden tourist's paths. Now I know what I have been missing! This is a simple, yet very excellent French restaurant with superb... read more

My wife and I just finished a fabulous lunch at L'Auberge in Bequia. The service was very good and we had a nice chat with Jacques, the owner. We each had the hamburger with mushrooms. They were by far the best burgers we have ever had. They are not your typical burger for sure. Extra vegetables and herbs infused in... More

This is by far the best restaurant on the island. The owner and his wife made us feel at ease and went through menu with us. Lobster bisque soup was excellent followed by Lobster in a jerk sauce which was amazingly good. My wife had surf and turf in a light curry sauce with rice which was also excellent. Main... More

The service is excellent and the food rises to the occasion. L'Auberge offers up sophisticated food with an island flair. For example, the warm goat cheese salad and "river lobsters" (in the "ocean" lobster off season). The steaks are the best on the island and worth a visit and the seafood is top notch.

Hi wife and I spent 9 days in Bequia for our honeymoon, and our hotel manager recommended going to L'Auberge for our last night. The dinner was absolutely fantastic! They had a wide range of entrees- far more selection than many of the restaurants on the island. I had the pepper-crusted tuna, and it was prepared perfectly. We could tell... More

We ate dinner at L'Auberge while visiting Bequia. The ambience and service were both nice and the owners were on hand to greet you which was a nice touch. However, we both felt that the food (besides the fresh lobster of course) could have been better. Tiny portions, undercooked rice and while the banana flambé was delicious, the serving size... More

Jacques and Eileen Thevenot , the husband and wife owners are both professionally trained chefs and it shows. Their restaurant operates at a level significantly above others in Bequia and consistently provides excellent food and service. It is difficult to pick out one particular item from the menu but their tuna tartar with fried breadfruit chips is a favorite of... More

When traveling, I am always inclined to ask a local resident for a recommendation for a good place to eat. In this case we were directed to L'Auberge. It is a little off the beaten path, but an easy walk from the Hamilton Bay dock. We were delighted! It is an open air restaurant (not to be confused with a... More

We went for Dinner one night and were so impressed we returned for our last lunch on Bequia before heading back by Ferry. The wait staff is spot on and the Owner very conscientious . The presentations were amazing and a table of 5 foodies were thrilled with all the dishes.

It was recommended that we dine here and it was a great recommendation! This restaurant is right on the bay and has it's own dingy dock. Easy access from the bay. The view is exceptional and the food awesome! We had the seafood casserole which was more of a stew but man, was it good. My husband had the fresh... More
