The inn has many facets and private seating areas along with a rich history. Rich at the bar was very welcoming and sharing of local and area rums or specialties. I had the salad....excellent, fresh ingredients and delicious dressing. The homemade pizzas are a specialty....thin crust...topped with island meats and veggies. Definitely worth stopping here!

The grounds are beautiful. We arrived thinking we would have a drink, see the grounds and head off but the staff was so friendly that we decided to stay for dinner. Lovely meal. Duck was the hit of the night. Somewhat limited menu - three entree options the night we were there - but if you cook each one well,... More

The owner greeted us and gave us some history on the home that he grew up in as a boy. The food was wonderful and hand selected for our group. We had very nice wine to accompany our meal. We were well fed and happy campers.

Make a reservation early. Delicious pig with all the trimmings. Plentiful and interesting side dishes Nevitian style. Olde world island setting. (If you don't make it for Wed night their pizza oven does not disappoint.)

On this visit to Nevis, my husband and I had dinner at the Hermitage twice. Our first visit was with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren for the Wednesday night pig roast, and we had a great meal. The variety of West Indian foods was impressive, and everything tasted great. The roast pig was yummy. My only complaint was... More

This small hotel is very quaint. If you enjoy historical ambiance and tasting local dishes this a place you should try. It is not on the water, you need to take a taxi, but it does have great views. The food is served as a buffet, with a entire pig cooked over a spit. I thought the food was just... More

We (a group of 4) went to the Wednesday pig roast with high expectations but felt let down. The buffet was reasonable but certainly not exceptional. We have become used to charming, cheerful service on this island and this was certainly not the case here. Perhaps our waitress was new but she seemed undertrained and did not have people skills.... Went here 3 times for breakfast. Homemade yoghurt, muesli, juices, bacon, sausages, breads and cakes All delicious. Sunday is a buffet where you can help you self. I prefer the week days where you order from the menu as it is piping hot and freshly cooked to order but I know many people like to return to the buffet again... More

When visiting Nevis the hog roast evening here is a must. Make sure you book up in advance so you are not disappointed. The hog was roasted to perfection and was moist and tasty. For the vegetarians there were a whole host of Caribbean salads which also accompanied the pork. As well as pork the night we ate there we... More
