Wow..No longer a skeptic

Being form NY was skeptical of the good reviews but Chef Tony knocks it out of the park with his unique cuisine. He is a real talent and the food is excellent

Went to the Thursday night BBQ. Mediocre food and service. Overpriced. Thought for that price there'd be grilled lobster. Au contraire. Fish was overcooked, and the shrimp was undercooked. The sides? Nothing spectacular. My table? "Far from the Madding Crowd." In the way, way back. Longest commute to the buffet line. Two positives: the soup and dessert. Total cost: All... More

The Nisbet Plantation is known for its Thursday Beach Party, but I replicated one for a large group on a Wednesday. WOW! The food is well prepared, locally grown vegetables, fresh fish, chicken, steaks ... plus an excellent squash/pumpkin soup as a starter. The staff was on top of all the details from arranging the seating to directing the group... More

Sea Breeze is the beachside restaurant at Nisbet Plantation, a charming historic hotel & former home of Fanny Nisbet, who went on to marry Nelson. The restaurant is a delightful open sided spot literally metres from the ocean. Staff were jolly & sincere & food pretty good, my tuna perfectly seared just as ordered. The menu is quite lengthy &... Coastal dining just in time for sunset and eventually under the stars with a fantastic breeze from the ocean. Topping off the location is the food, drinks (affordable wine list) and service (top-shelf). Exceeded our expectations with the surf & turf BBQ - foolishly I loaded up on starters and salads but some how found room for the buffet of... More

We stayed at Nisbet for 4 nights and much enjoyed our meals at The Great House. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is intimate and romantic, and the food is impressive, albeit pricey, for such a small island. Do I think this place can beat a fresh seafood shack on the beach and dining with your toes in the sand?... More

We visited the resort to play on the beach and eat breakfast in the restaurant. We arrived at 8:00 in the morning and despite the fact that we were the ONLY people on the otherwise deserted beach, we were asked to stay below the high water mark and away from beach chairs and hammocks since those are reserved for guests... The food was fine but we had better meals at Banana's bistro and golden rock inn. The manager and main maitre de were more interested in the hotel guests than customers not staying there. There are better choices when spending top dollar as far as creative food and friendly atmosphere.

The service and dinners at the Great House were one of the best parts of staying at the Plantation. It was so nice to realize I didn't have to leave to get the best food on the island.

A chance booking resulted in the most amazing food and ambiance of the whole trip. If you are looking for a fantastic experience then an evening at the great house is a must. The staff were excellent, Patterson in particular was so accommodating, ensuring our 18 month old daughter was entertained and looked after. We were initially concerned about taking... More
