Bit out of the way...but worth it

The location makes this place. Tacos were good but avoid the burgers. Drinks, service and the local creatures make this place a must-visit when on the island.

Hired a car to explore St Kitts South peninsula and came across Cockleshell beach, a stunning white sand bay with great view across the narrows to Nevis. It's got several bars including Spice Mill which was full of loud cruise guests so we chose Lion Bar as it's got a true Caribbean flavour and vibe, they looked after me from... More

Returned to Lion's Dean for the Lion's Punch and had lunch. Ribs with his famous coconut coleslaw. Right on the beach with a great view of the ocean. Lion was busy cooking but enjoyed a visit with his son.

If you want a real Caribbean beach bar experience, THIS is the place!! Lion and Angela will make you feel welcome and will make sure you have a grand time! They offer the coldest and most reasonably-priced beer on St Kitts! Treat yourself to a plate full of yummy and have one of four amazing dishes served: ribs, chicken, fish... More

Highly recommend if you are looking to get off the resort. Safe and friendly as it comes. Lion and Abraham makes everyone feel welcomed. I was very surprised at the quality of the food. It was fantastic with the Ribs and King fish leading the way. Only steps from the water sport hut...unlike the other bars at cockleshell beach the... More

Great lunch to finish out a morning of exciting watersports. The ribs were great! Tried the lion punch and watched the beach activities.

Stopped by this place as a day trip. Prior to embarking on our cruise like everyone else we looked at things to do in St Kitts including just "beaching it" for the day. Our ride over was by taxi with a hilarious driver who told us about the islands rich history. Total of fare was $7 U.S. each way....The drive... More

Typical tourist shack place. 5 dollars ( US) for a chair & the 5 dollar rum punches are potent. I was turned off from eating here when I asked to use the bathroom .It was beyond disgusting. We ate at the Spice Mill next door.No need for a return visit.

Going to Cockelshell Beach so we could have lunch at Lion Rock Beach Bar is one of the best decisions I've ever made. It is a bit of a ride - and kind of an expensive cab ride, (no more so than on the other islands), but the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and once you arrive it is so worth... More

We only used this place a couple of times for post beach beers, but they were cold and competively priced... Recommended for post beach beers.
