phone 869 466 8871 A bit off the beaten path, but only 1/4 miles from the cruise ship port. Fantastic, authentic caribbean food. Very casual, screened-porch setting. This is where the locals dine and it's totally worth checking out. One of the best meals we had in the islands.

Great food & Friendly staff

Tasty food and the staff were very friendly especially the owners who made the effort to come and speak to us and the other diners. We will definitely go back.

I did like this place and I wasn't sure how I'd feel when I came upon it on the main road facing the sea and yet, it's not a nice area full of decrepit buildings, but the inside of this place is actually pretty nice. The seating is open-air, but shaded so you're protected from the direct sun rays or... More

We visited El Fredo's twice and would have gone back more if we had more time. There was always a big menu with lots of tempting dishes, and a choice of sides with each dish. I had the curried mutton first and the ribs the second time, both were incredible. The rum punch was also amazing! Prices were reasonable, with... More

Nice little restaurant near the waterfront in Basseterre. Offers a selection of local foods and although the menu isn't huge it changes daily and all the different meals we had were very good. The bar also has a selection of local beers and cocktails to choose from. Good value for money and friendly staff.

Should not be missed for lunch only, during visit. Excellent fresh food. Wait staff will explain menu items.

We walked here from the helicopter pad for chilled beer and fresh caught seafood. El Fredo's is a meeting spot, with townspeople chatting, some glued to their smartphones, some on lunch dates. The road along the waterfront is hectic, with taxis screaming by and gear grinding delivery trucks making that run into Basseterre. There is no waterview--that road (plus a... More

On one of our days touring parts of the island with a taxi driver, he suggested that we eat at El Fredo's for lunch. We agreed and had a decent meal at best. The setting was agreeable but nothing very inspiring, the meal was alright, the service was acceptable, and the cost seemed just a little high for the food... More

Ate at El Fredos for lunch on the recommendation of our driver. Nothing fancy. They don't even have printed menus. Waitress just recited what the chef felt like cooking, designed around fresh catch of the day. Authentic local Caribbean. Fish is served whole, which may put some off. I had garlic shrimp and my husband had red snapper. Both delicious.... More

Being rated number 1 caught our eye so we decided to try on our way to do a little shopping downtown. Stopped in for lunch and were kind of surprised that El Fredo's wasn't crowded and we could snag a table. Prepare yourself for a bit of a different kind of family run establishment. The menu changes daily based upon... More
