Description: phone 869 466 8871 A bit off the beaten path, but only 1/4 miles from the cruise ship port. Fantastic, authentic caribbean food. Very casual, screened-porch setting. This is where the locals dine and it's totally worth checking out. One of the best meals we had in the islands.

We read about El Fredo's on internet and went there for lunch. There were only locals eating there besides us. It is always a good sign. We ate different things and everything was good. We got a lot of local vegies on side, some of which we did not recognize. All were good, especially mashed green bananas.

We were taken there as guests of St Kitts Tourism Authority, so we can't comment on the price. However, it was great to visit and enjoy local food and home-made drinks. Would return if we were on the island.

I have read good things on here about this restaurant and have wanted to try it for the last 3 trips to st kitts. This time, I went and ordered the garlic conch. I asked the waitress if it was just conch and garlic in butter and she assured me it was. I stated to her that I am not... More

Great local food. The green mashed bananas was so good. Can't wait to try these at home. Service was good. Where the locals go for lunch. How can you go wrong. Recommended by our taxi driver. We will probably go back before we leave.

We would probably have missed it if the taxi driver had not stopped to pick up his lunch. Real Caribbean flavour at a reasonable price. Plenty of local people eating here.

When we asked folks to recommend a local restaurant, most recommended this place. After going down town for our food, I can understand why. The food is tasty without too much sauce and the patrons are very friendly and accommodating. If you want good local food, you should go here as well

Friendly and warm greeting. Cold drinks and good food! Beef soup was good, red snapper and garlic conch were tasty. Skip the ribs, there are better places to eat ribs, but everything else was very good.

All four of us had a wonderful meal. The food was plentiful, delicious, and a great price point. The owner of the restaurant spent a lot of time helping us understand the game of cricket. It was a fantastic experience. Our Taxi driver suggested this restaurant. It is on the outskirts of Bassetterre so we walked through the town afterwards.

Really enjoyed this place. Not fancy or and well priced, but fun, local themed food. Frankly, appeared to be many locals picking up food and eating here.

If you want local food and reasonable prices make sure you eat at El Fredo's. They have fish, shrimp and chicken or for really local they have salt fish with "provisions" which is dumplings, green banana, yellow yam, white yam, breadfruit, plantains, pumpkin, and cornmeal fritter. Delicious!!
