Local spot

We were told to eat here from a great tour guide and we we're not disappointed. Great local flavor and very friendly service. Try the fresh fruit juices.

It's a casual local spot with a covered patio set amongst some shacks across the street from the seawall and it's lunch only. Entrees were affordable at $15 for a large plate of food. However, I had to watch out for bones in the national dish (Saltfish) and the beef rib had a lot of fat (island style?). The island... More

We went to this restaurant while in port on a cruise. The food was good and very authentic. The service was good. Other reviews have mentioned the soursop drink. I have had soursop on other islands and in Belize and it is a must try if you have never had it. This particular drink reminded me of a pina-colada with... More

Very unassuming location on the corner of bay road and Sandown road. Parking is a little tough, but we were on a scooter so I just pulled it onto the grass on the side of the road. I had the oxtail stew. It was served with rice and peas, some plantains and something that reminds me of Korean sweet potato,... More

Amazing and authentic local food. Everything was delicious! The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating and judging by the amount of locals, it's an extremely popular place.

Tasty food and the staff were very friendly especially the owners who made the effort to come and speak to us and the other diners. We will definitely go back.

I did like this place and I wasn't sure how I'd feel when I came upon it on the main road facing the sea and yet, it's not a nice area full of decrepit buildings, but the inside of this place is actually pretty nice. The seating is open-air, but shaded so you're protected from the direct sun rays or... More

We visited El Fredo's twice and would have gone back more if we had more time. There was always a big menu with lots of tempting dishes, and a choice of sides with each dish. I had the curried mutton first and the ribs the second time, both were incredible. The rum punch was also amazing! Prices were reasonable, with... More

Nice little restaurant near the waterfront in Basseterre. Offers a selection of local foods and although the menu isn't huge it changes daily and all the different meals we had were very good. The bar also has a selection of local beers and cocktails to choose from. Good value for money and friendly staff.
