Michael's Genuine is the real thing

Great waterfront atmosphere and delicious clean food. The service was excellent. A great plave for lunch on Grand Cayman.

Lunch today, very slow service, and part of fish inedible. Eventually caught the eye of waitress, who took that piece away, but a new piece did not come back until I had almost finished my salad. There was no apology, and they were grumpy when I declined to pay the full gratuity.

Pleasantly surprised to see our favorite waiter Ronnie back. He makes this restaurant special. Had Mexican soup as a starter and it contained plenty of pulled pork and veggies perfectly spiced. I had finger fish very tasty and not over cooked and my wife had a pizza cooked in wood fired oven. Very crispy. While we were waiting the chef... More

Lovely ambiance and very good food. Michael's was one of the few places serving lion fish during our visit and it didn't disappoint - well prepared, nicely presented and really tasty, with local vegetables accompanying the main. The outdoor seating overlooking a small bay is perfect on a warm Cayman evening.

We ate at Michael's Genuine Food & Drink at Camana Bay shopping complex, which is about a 10 minute walk from Seven Mile Beach. Founded by chef Michael Schwartz, it has a great menu selection including fish, pork, chicken, and steak. Everything was prepared perfectly. Bravo!

Our dinner here was fine - the service was pretty good and the food was nice, but the cocktails were tiny and not good, and the bill was huge for what was really just bar food. Probably a good place to stop for a quick lunch, but not what we were expecting from a nice Camana Bay dinner.

Superb service and very good food. If the weather permits (i.e not too hot) enjoy the outdoor ambiance. My only complaint - a truly awful Manhattan at the bar. Next time I'll stick to beer.

Ate there with colleagues for a quick lunch. Heard the burgers were excellent so had to give them a try. In short I thought the burger was good but not excellent. The service was fast and friendly enough. Gave it an average review not because it was "just average", but because it was not necessarily "very good" (as in VERY... More

I've been to this spot once in Feb. 2013 and again in Feb. 2015. It's a great location in shopping/restaurant hub Camana Bay, right by the water. The beer selection here is good if you're into American craft like Rogue Ales. They also have some house brews which I haven't tried. Some of the appetizers were good, like the ceviche... More

The best meal we had on the Island. Best salad, best fresh fish. The service was extremely helpful and attentive. Really aimed to please. At our server's suggestion, we retired to a comfortable seating area for port and cigars where we enjoyed the park and people. Camana Bay is a lovely place to spend the evening. (And, the women's restroom... More
