Don't let the atmosphere fool you - this is a foodie place!

A friend insisted we go to this restaurant. She had seen that the chef / owner had received some prestigious culinary awards. He owes another one in Miami too. When we arrived, it looked like a sports bar - pretty unexceptional. However, as a single sheet menu came out (still looked like a sports... read more

Been to Michaels on several visits to Gr.Cayman. Very nice outdoor seating. The food is great - both small plates and main dishes. Desserts are creative and varied. Reception and serving staff are super friendly and efficient. Great all around experience.

Lovely place to eat - located in Camana Bay, which has upscale shops and a movie theatre. Kids can play in the nearby water fountain while you wait for your food. Shops are open till 7pm, so a great place to spend an evening.

Excellent steak and homemade fries! Medium rare was as asked and not medium as in other places. The dessert was devine! The cappuccino was excellent.

we had a visitor and went to michaels for dinner. The service is always spotty but the food is amazing. I can not get the short rib and Brussel sprouts out of my head - incredible! Pig ears and hominy are always a great appy for sharing. Over all the food wins hands down all the time - highly recommend... More

After seeing it had a star in the local food reviews (which only a few places get, including many of our other favorites) and that the chef was a James Beard award recipient, we booked for dinner. Upon arriving though, we were so disappointed with the menus overall look of a lunch joint, only 5 entrees total, very little fish... More

We went to Michaels thinking we'd have a full dinner....but it is more of a bar menu than full service restaurant. But don't let that dissuade you from trying it....it was very good. I started with the tomato soup, followed by a chopped salad (small size plenty big) topped with the fish of the day, a tasty wahoo. My wife... More

Second visit to MGFD at Camana Bay in the last 10 days. Food and service are both good. Menu seems to have a "California Cuisine" aspect to it. Had Mahi which was very tasty. Spouse liked the beet salad enough to return. All and all, a nice place to dine.

Food was very good (crispy fish sandwich for lunch). Drinks were tasty. Bar tender was fun and the patrons were an eclectic mix of people. Camana Bay is a great location.

Great spot outside for drinks and appetizers. We had the pork bellies and the chips and both were excellent. Service was good and they were very attentive.
