Yoshi Sushi defines a hidden gem. Don't be fooled by its unassuming location in a small strip mall. We heard good things about Yoshi from a friend prior to going and we were not only surprised, we were blown away. First of all, the atmosphere is unexpectedly trendy and cool; it looks like a high end sushi place you'd find... more

Having read the reviews on TripAdvisor, I decided to visit Yoshi when I was in Cayman towards the end of April 2009. The setting is a bit strange - it looks like a galvanised shed from the outside - however once I stepped inside I was pleasantly surprised. It took some time to get seated - the Maitre D looked... more

The restaurant is a bit dark but is nicely set up - it has a good atmoshphe. It is however a shame that this is spoilt by terrible service. The front desk were slow and it was clear they did not know what they were doing. They were too busy answering the phone rather than dealing with customers in front... more

My husband and I went to Grand Cayman in April and were delighted with Yoshi Sushi. We didn't have a reservation but were immediately seated and right at the sushi bar, though we could have had a table if we wanted. The staff was very friendly and honest about what to get. We were thinking about the 'boat' of sushi... more

This is our first time in Grand Cayman, and our first experience at Yoshi Sushi. I wish the place had more natural lighting during early evening, it seemed very dark in there. The food was average...what I would expect at a sushi place. It seemed like it was a happening place to go to for dinner. more

I spend two weeks (now going on 4) in GC every year. I have been to Yoshi many times, probably 3-5 times a week. Never had a meal that I didn't consider to be excellent. Being a NYC food snob, I think I'm qualified to judge. Never ate at a table, only at the sushi bar. Besides the good food,... more

On our arrival we were asked "do you have a reservation" which was interesting because there was maybe one other table seated.... Prices were typical cayman/expensive in USD. Raw sushi I had was pretty good. Drinks expensive. "Spicy" sushi items had a dab of what looked like Sriracha "rooster on the bottle" hot sauce put straight out of the bottle... more

Went to Yoshi for dinner. The Shrimp tempura was pretty crunchy and good. The Udon for the kids were a little different. Taste like the use sweet soy sauce for the broth instead of the Kelp and Bonito flakes. The deluxe sashimi was ok. Tuna was kind of bland. Hamachi was good. Compare this to Bamboo on Grand Cayman beach... more

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you walk into Yoshi Sushi it's as if you stepped into a trendy place somewhere in New York City. It is the off season so we didn't need any reservations, but it did get crowded. They have good sushi rolls, sashimi and other non sushi items making it a great... more
