This was the first place we ate at after not being able to find anything open the night before. The mahi mahi was great and so was the snapper! You can taste the freshness! The view was jus amazing too!! The only thing that wasn't nice was the bathroom. There was no running water! I would recommend this place just... More

We were on our way to the much vaunted "baths" and made a wrong turn - thank god we did! The beach and the bar were empty and we had arrived in our very own slice of paradise. The most fantastic views and snorkelling too. Great cool beers and the catch of the day and fries was just heavenly. Wonderful... More

We ate here several times this trip. We love sitting on the dock with the cool ocean breeze watching the fish below. Their prices are pretty reasonable. The fish of the day is always an excellent menu choice. We really liked their chicken wings and of course, their drinks. The seafood pasta wasn't our favorite.

We were flipping a coin between cooking in or going out without spending too much money. We did a quick search and came upon Mermaids which was very close to our villa and decided to go out to eat. The place was empty except for one other family who was finishing up when we arrived. We could have been scared... More

Thrilled to enjoy the Sunday BBQ at The Mermaid. The ribs were fantastic. The backdrop is amazing. The service is friendly. It is a very casual dockside setting, but comfortable. Not much fuss. We loved dining here for lunch.

Don't expect anything fancy but do expect excellent local fare. Nice views of the water and really good authentic cuisine. Excellent value.

The view is great, but we found the food just average. The restaurant itself is very casual ... a beach bar without any particular ambience. Not the worst meal we had on Virgin Gorda but I wouldn't return. We also had lunch at Coca Maya right next door. I'd return there any day. Prices about the same but way better... More

We have been to the Mermaid often and will keep going. The setting is wonderful. Basically the same view as Coco Maya next door but better food and service at far better prices. The basic menu is pretty standard but the specials can be superb. One time I had a curried shrimp dish which was delicious. If you order a... More
