Just returned from North Sound and spent several afternoons at the Sandbox on Vixen Point. Actually first went to this place 25 years ago and aside from a new wall in the back and a couple new bar stools, the place hasn't changed very much. Great beach, great view and great water. Food and drink are a little on the... More

Our group of seven pulled up in a dinghy wandered around the beach and then headed to the Sand Box for lunch. Small menu written on a chalkboard, no prices, large shaded tables on the beach. Lunch consisted of burgers, fries, fish and chicken sandwiches and chicken roti, beer and sodas. Everything was fine, the chicken roti was really quite... More

We pulled up on a Dingy because it looked cool passing by. We felt very unwelcome. The place was fairly dead other then a family on the beach and the employees acted like we asked them to do hard labor when we asked to buy some drinks. There were flees all over the beach (seriously). The goats and cats wondering... More

Pulled up in a dinghy and enjoyed a beautifully cooked snapper sandwich and a rum punch - all while enjoying a stunning view of the North Sound. We were practically the only people there, I guess because it's not serviced by the water taxis so you need to find your own way over.

We've been to Sandbox numerous times for drinks on the beach. The service has always been good and drinks cold and well made. This is a rustic place, so it has never occurred to me to eat there. We go for the beauty and quiet. There are cats and goats all over BVI, so I don't see how you can... More

We stopped in for lunch at The Sand Box restaurant while sailing the BVI on Thanksgiving week. I ordered two fish sandwiches that were posted on the blackboard without prices. The waitress said they were out of fish so we ordered 2 hamburgers (without cheese or bacon) and 2 cokes. The bill came to $36. We couldn't eat the burgers... More

I went there for lunch with my family recently. The location on Virgin Gorda is fantastic, and they have a lot of tables and beach chairs. The owner(s), who obviously don't care enough to run a good business, of course weren't there. Where do I start? The lunch menu had no prices - I can see why, the hamburger was... More

The Sand Box was a short boat ride away from our resort. The bar was not open the day we went over there, but we lounged on their beach for a couple of hours after tying up. A tip we received was to bring a bag of ice next time - then they will make any drink you request!

Call ahead a day or two and request an Anegada lobster lunch, grilled on the beach, served with veggies and rice- its soooo good. Top it off with a raspberry bushwacker and a nice nap on the beach. Wish I was there now!!
