Sunset

Went for local cuisine and the sunset. Who knew bbq ribs were the thing? Ordered on recommendation of bartender. He didn't lead us wrong! They were fabulous. But the sunset was even better. Restaurant is located on top of a hill so we had a clear view.

Great views, good food, good service. It was interesting in that there was only a single waitress working the room the evening we went; and she did a fantastic job of keeping the food flowing out of the kitchen. I will definitely go back for the chicken roti.

Lunch was quiet and enjoyable. Food was good for the price. Sadly, one reason to go there is the mini-golf which we could not play because there were no balls and there was goat poo everywhere. We like the place because it's authentically local, and food is solid.

We decided to try something new for lunch so after the copper mine visit we stopped here. There was only one other car in the lot at lunch time and only one table of 4 people having lunch in the restaurant. That being said it took 10 minutes to get a patron on the rocks, 35 minutes to get fried... More

The view of the Caribbean is great from the covered, open air dining room and the food includes a variety of dishes of lobster, ribs and pub food. The signature cocktail, the "Cave In" encourages camaraderie. A great place for lunch when the sun is shimmering off the blue water. We often eat here when in Virgin Gorda.

Restaurants in Virgin Gorda go up and down. Last year the Sugar Mill at Little Dix was great; this year not at all. Last year Biras Creek was great; this year just good. And last year the Mine Shaft was barely tolerable; this year, great. The only thing that keeps it from five stars is the "V.G. Uncertainty Factor." Things... More

The best Pain Killer to go with great Ribs. Fun setting, live music, great views. Menu was diverse with each member of our four person group trying a different entree. All rated their meal as excellent. We are testing Pain Killers at each venue we stop at. Mine Shaft is the champion Pain Killer in the competition to date.

The Mine Shaft Cafe on Virgin Gorda is located up the mountain side - it was once a small outdoor cafe that has grown into a sizeable bar and restaurant. The owner and his brother are two of the friendliest people you'd ever hope to meet and the rest of the staff is great as well. The food is excellent... More

We have grown even more fond than we were of this place. For one, it has the best ribs and potato salad and caesar salad on the island. For another, they do an all you can eat bbq on tuesday which we have been to too many times to count. And this year, the barman and waiter and host, Jinx,... More

Greatest views, great service, and wonderful dishes. We were there on Super Bowl Night, so the hors d'oeuvres were free and divine. The owners, Lincoln and Elton must be the sweetest, cutest guys in the world!
