My husband and I were looking for a special place to go to on the Island and found this place. The food is excellent as well as the service. It is small and quaint. We will be back on our next visit to the Island!!

L'Effet Mer is one of our favorite restaurants in Saint-Martin. The quality of the food is amazing, as is the presentation, and the service. I recommend asking for a table with a view on the seafront. I highly recommend ordering the fresh caught fish of the day, and I would indulge in desert as well. You will not be disappointed.

This place is amazing. A very charming and intimate setting. I cannot say enough about the tastes and combinations the chef puts together. The trio for 29 Euros, I cannot speak enough about. Lobster bisque with baguette, lamb and ravioli entree, and a superb creme brûlée with banana mousse and cocunut ice cream. I cannot believe this place isn't packed... More

The food is excellent; the wine list is quite good; service is adequate; selections are imaginative; setting is nice; room is fairly small. Fish dishes are very good. Management allows smoking, which destroys a nice outing and messes up the flavors of the chef's best efforts.

Very Nice restaurant, in a very nice setting (sea front). Surprising combinations on the menu. We really enjoyed it. Service was sometimes trying too hard. But all in all we had an excellent dinner, with good food, good wine and good service. We'll return!

This is a very French establishment with charming waitresses. From the street it is not appealing, but inside, the tables by the water are beautiful. It got much louder halfway through our meal when a large group of smokers was seated near us. (Oh, well.) Everything we ordered was attractive and beautifully seasoned. For starters we had sweet pepper gazpacho... More

Best Dining experience in St Martin! The chef, Stephane, prepared an absolutely delicious and creative, visually stunning dinner for us. I am vegetarian and was thrilled at the delightful tastes during each lovely course, as we enjoyed the tranquil ambience overlooking the sea, sky and stars of this perfect Caribbean setting. A romantic and so relaxing, pleasurable evening, with every dish... More

Perhaps this should be rated #1 in Grand Case. First, it is a wonderful beach side setting with good views and nice breezes. And second, the food was as good if not better than any other restaurant in Grand Case. The 4 of us all had fish including scallops, red snapper, sea bass. As we each tasted all of them,... More

This hidden gem had been recommended to us by several local people . We had missed this one for the past 4 years in Grand Case. It is very small & quaint, right on the ocean, looking across to Anguilla. We ate the Dover Sole & the raw tuna. The portions were just perfect and the food was so good,that... More
