A visit to St. Martin would not be complete without dining at L'Effet Mer in Grand Case. We have enjoyed dining at this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The preparation and presentation of the menu items are simply perfect.

Let's be clear: The food here is among the most imaginative in the famed Grand Case strip, and management is making an effort to keep it affordable. I was blown away by the preparation of even the standard menu items. But, when we came in I asked that our party be seated in a non-smoking area, a reasonable request since... More

I have to say what caught our attention was the great lunch menu out in front of the restaurant that included a notation that said one to one match (euro to dollar). The lunch was very tasty and the staff was good about accommodating a gluten allergy, though the wait staff was not too attentive. We went back for dinner... More

Do not miss this wonderful Chef. He has amazing plates, that melt in your mouth. The setting is quaint & serene as you watch the lighted boats and listen to the ocean waves. I had the asparagus soup to start and I have never had anything like it. It was cream soup poured over a soft boiled egg with a... More

Had lunch with my friend Joe, I picked 2 appetizers - a very tasty set of 5 chicken spring rolls, and a tomato mozzarella "tower" that was the whole tomato interleaved with the mozzarella slices, on shredded lettuce, with scoops of cucumber sorbet that made me wish to get an entire dish of it. Beautiful presentation and a perfect light... More

Good food and outstanding service. Really "done food" and stunning presentations. I felt there was a lacking in flavor - I honestly prefer the Lolos next door but you cant beat the service and the view here - also the wine list. Bring your bug spray though.

This was the first time that I tried this restaurant and I was glad that we did! My wife had a veal chop and my boys had Prime Rib. I had the Lobster, and it was cooked perfectly. Great service and view. I will be back for sure! Alan and Jo Ann Concha from Jersey.

We met a local bartender who told us this place was the best meal for the best price in Grand Case. He was absolutely right! We went on a weekday night and although there were other tables, found it to be comfortable, quiet and romantic with seating beachside. Gwen was our server, and she was delightful. She was the perfect... More

This restaurant has a lovely location overlooking the comings and goings at the local peir. Food was excellent, but one gets very spoiled in Grand Case.
