The most creative dishes we had during our stay at Grand Case were at l'Effet Mer. Although the service slowed down as the restaurant became more crowded, the food itself was very good. La decouverte de foie gras was not the best I've had, but included an edible leaf made out of cheddar and an original terrine with fruit flavors.... More

Loved the simplicity of the menu and a great location on beach. Fresh squeezed orange juice and great service. Lovely art work as well.

We spent our last dinner here on the island after our hotel manager recommending this place. It was the best decision we made to follow his advice. The restaurant is on the beach at Grand Case. From the front it does not look much but the inside is very nice with a calm atmosphere. The service was very tentative and... More

We ate at sunset and the view was spectacular. The food was good. I had salad with a balsamic ice cream vinegarette , lamb that had been slow cooked for 10 hours and cream brulee ice cream for dessert. My brother had a foie gras tasting which he said was excellent and he also had the lamb. Everything was nicely... More

Actually went to L'Effet Mer a couple years ago. Without a doubt one of the best meals we ever had on vacation. The staff suggested the perfect wine for our meal selections and we had a romantic view of the beach/bay. Put this place on your list!!

This is a good restaurant overlooking the bay at Grand Case. Beautiful setting with the sailboats bobbing in the sea. We had an excellent meal there, and all agreed that we would go back again.

Ate here again. Our first meal on the island this year. We have been to St. Martin since 1998 and L'Effet Mer is a welcome, fairly recent, addition. Food was as good as ever. I had a terrific asparagus soup with a perfectly cooked scallop with two slices of bacon. Intense asparagus flavor. Blending of textures, colors, and flavors right... More

Some of the food was very good, but despite the room being about half full, the kitchen seemed to be in the weeds for much of the night. It took 40 minutes to get our desert.
