We ate at sunset and the view was spectacular. The food was good. I had salad with a balsamic ice cream vinegarette , lamb that had been slow cooked for 10 hours and cream brulee ice cream for dessert. My brother had a foie gras tasting which he said was excellent and he also had the lamb... read more

Actually went to L'Effet Mer a couple years ago. Without a doubt one of the best meals we ever had on vacation. The staff suggested the perfect wine for our meal selections and we had a romantic view of the beach/bay. Put this place on your list!!

This is a good restaurant overlooking the bay at Grand Case. Beautiful setting with the sailboats bobbing in the sea. We had an excellent meal there, and all agreed that we would go back again.

Ate here again. Our first meal on the island this year. We have been to St. Martin since 1998 and L'Effet Mer is a welcome, fairly recent, addition. Food was as good as ever. I had a terrific asparagus soup with a perfectly cooked scallop with two slices of bacon. Intense asparagus flavor. Blending of textures, colors, and flavors right... More

Some of the food was very good, but despite the room being about half full, the kitchen seemed to be in the weeds for much of the night. It took 40 minutes to get our desert.

We ate here on the recommendation of our taxi driver. We all had the prix fixe menu, which was great value at €32. One of our party asked for fois gras instead of dessert and got it at no extra cost. He raved about how good it was. All of us had the lobster bisque which was outstanding. The restaurant... More

Excellent view right on the water. Gourmet French dinner was to die for. Great service. My wife and I could not have enjoyed it more.

Add L'Effet Mer to the list of exceptional gourmet restaurants in Grand Case. Our party of four had dinner there last week and it was superb. Chef Stephane Decluseau is creating wonderful meals at this intimate spot. The views are spectacular, as is the service. We had sea scallps served three different ways, red snapper, and chicken with crab meat.... More

After reading good reviews here on trip advisor we decided to make a reservation. The restaurant is not very big inside so a reservation is recommended but the views and location right on the water are amazing. Not to be outdone by the view, the service and the food were exceptional. The duck liver tasting was out of this world... More
