We had a lovely evening at L'Estaminet on Wed. March 11. We had a reservation and met our other couple there. We were greeted at the entrance, seated and apprised of the menu and specials both in English and French. The appetizers were wonderful, especially the goat cheese with fig compote and fois gras. What a great combination!! For the... More

This restaurant is a constant source of surprise. The creativity is artistic and each dish is so carefully thought out. Asparagus soup with bacon creme brulee and goat cheese ice cream! WOW! The onion soup was also very tasty. The BBQ salmon, done at the table, was very good. The pork tenderloin special was cooked to perfection. The wine list... More

One of the best Restaurants I have ever eaten at. There is Taste with a capital T. That's it and don't scarf down the triple tira misu desert in 3 minutes like i did--then again Why Not?? Actually remembered it from last year and was so looking forward to my second visit-if anything even better! P.S. Merci to our wonderful... More

We were very pleasantly surprised with our recent visit to L'estaminet. The restaurant is located at the end of Grand Case and away from the main section of town. The locale is unasuming but once the staff greeted us and describe with such passion all items on the menu our perception of the restaurant changed. All dishes were delicately prepared... More

The chef owns the restaurant and she cooks with love. It comes out in the food. Even the side dishes first with flavor. I would arrange this restaurant with auntie in the world

Exceptional, inventive, unusual cuisine. Ranks with the finest dining experiences we've had & that includes Joel Robuchon, Daniel Boulud, et al. How about a goat cheese eggplant mousse appetizer with a garnish in a tiny toothpaste tube? Or a wafer of grainy bread topped with a barely cooked scallop, truffles, & fois gras? Just outstanding. St Martin/ St Maarten is... More

Entertaining dining. Sample portion dining.. Artistic presentation. Ate there on first mardi gras Tuesday in Grand case. The dancers came right into the restaurant. Glad we tried it but would not go back

This restaurant is very unique in an area famous for it's great food. While most of the other restaurants in Grand Case have almost identical menus and most do them justice, L'estaminet is alone in it's uniqueness. Each dish is so very different and not to be seen elsewhere. They manage to mix the most unexpected ingredients into a melange... More

This is by far THE only restaurant that you need to eat @ on the island. Innovative, creative, trendy, amazing unpretentious service... it truly breaks the mold and the chef has no borders. This is the only spot that is doing stuff outside of the classic, boring, passe, poorly executed french merde that is impossible to eat in 90 degree... More
