This is a review of one appetizer only as this was part of a rather whirlwind night of dining at 3 different restaurants: L'Escapade (appetizer), Le Tastevin (appetizer again, entrees), and L'Auberge Gourmande (dessert and cognac) We visited L'Escapade after a very nice young Frech woman (who worked at a neat shop on Grand Case main street) recommended it for... Nothing special in terms of food or service. There are way better choices on the island. Won't be back

We visited earlier in the evening so that we could still see ocean and the sun setting. None of the restaurants were busy. We ordered sea bass, scallops, red snapper, duck and creme brûlée. As one other reviewer commented - this is quite pricey in US dollars. But we have found that true at most of the places we have... More

I LOVE this place. It is romantic and delightful. As if you are in Paris except with a phenomenal view of the Caribbean and seafood that was just caught that day. We had been in 2007 and I saved the card so that I would be sure to go there again. So, when we had a chance in 2014, we... More

When you are here, you are paying for the food and the view. This place overlooks the Caribbean. It's gorgeous. But as I told my husband while we were eating the best, yes, it bares repeating: the best risotto we have ever had (this includes Italy and our favorite risotto spot in Miami) places that have the view often bank... Went with my wife for her birthday. We were sat overlooking the water. Food was good but you are really paying for the atmosphere. Very relaxing, well delivered pace to the service. Dessert was well worth it.

While the food and service were good, the view, if your table is waterfront, makes it special. Very nice dining experience but not over the top exceptional. Also a bit pricey. Staff and service were both very good.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal and had an overall great experience. Of all the restaurants in St. Maarten our waiter Michael at this restaurant was by far the best. He had a great personality and this added to a most enjoyable evening.

While the food was good, the overall experience was not. Most restaurants in Grand Case offer 1Euro = $1 pricing, L'Escapade does not! But we didn't find that out until the bill came. While 107 Euros was about right for an appetizer, a glass of wine, a rum punch and two entrees, the US $ conversion was over $140. Plus,... More

Location is great, but the meal was not. While their shrimp & snapper special was well grilled, the accompanying risotto was mucky & tasteless. Choose their neighbour Le Cottage, directly across the street for superb food at more reasonable prices served by a friendlier, more attentive wait staff.
