Lal's was the first Indian cuisine we tried when we first moved to St. Maarten and it was OK. But when you compare it to the other Indian restaurants on the island (such as Bombay Bites, Shiv Shakti, etc.), Lal's takes last place in my opinion. For those who don't like/want authentic Indian or maybe better said like the more... More

I've been coming to the island for the past 7 years and a few years ago we discovered this tucked away gem. One of the best tasting indian food. Great owner and we always have a great tasting meal there. The paapadam is fresh, light and the best I have ever eaten in any restaurant. A must try when you... More

When Lal's was located on the lagoon across from the WinAir office at the airport, it was some of the best Indian food we had ever experienced. The location was charming, the service was wonderful, the food fantastic, and we left happy and well sated. Now? Not so much. During our last excursion to Lal's we were completely ignored because... Spicy hot samosa, dipping sauce.... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I've had better Indian mains on the island, but not better samosa.

Amazingly, this restaurant which serves decent Indian food (fresh but oddly flavored) is subtitled "Curry in a Hurry". We waited 90 min for our dinner and no explanation was offered, nor was any attempt made to bring an appetizer. Lal came by and offered to bring bottled water "to help us relax while waiting". We figured it would be gratis... More

Lal's has been around the Island for years and the food and service has always been the same "Great" Lal always likes to engage with his customers and pours a great drink. Well worth the trip.

There's so much excellent Indian food on this island it's hard to stand out. It really depends on your tastes. Our good Indian friend drove us here from Philipsburg and we had an excellent meal with drinks for $111 (three people). I didn't care for the roti (bread) but the garlic naan was good. Everything else tasted excellent, service was... More

Super friendly attentive service .... heavenly samosas ... And the lamb vindaloo just about as good as home, that being NYC. Nice size portions too. No question I'll come back here again.
