It was good, not great.

We went to Mario's for dinner. I thought the food was good, but not great. The ambiance was pleasant with beautiful artwork and nice lighting. The staff were efficient, friendly and gave good recommendations. The appetizers were creatively prepared and visually appealing and large. However, my... read more

However, my entree, the Sea Bass, tasted a bit off, which was a turn off. My... More

On the French side of the island, Mario's Bistro is top notch. Can be compared to a European/U.S. four star restaurant - excellent service and great food. The restaurant has been around many years, which says a lot and is always crowded - so be sure to make a reservation as soon as you land on the island. Have been... More

We sat near the water, the ambience was nice. Service was quick and friendly. Great dishes....excellent dessert. They had large tables for larger groups. They refilled the water glass constantly (good sign). We will dine there again, next visit.

I h ad the best tuna I have had in my life this year. This is a MUST when in St. Maarten. We go every year right before we leave to celebrate yet another wonderful trip to St. Maarten. Mario's is the best Restaurant on the Island. Make sure to get a reservation early and ask for a table by... More

My husband and I just had a delicious meal at Mario's Bistro. Definately a place to eat while in St Martin. I had the Tuna special while my husband had the Salmon special. Atmosphere was very nice and the service was very attentive! Be sure to save room for desert. I had the with the molten chocolate cake with the... More

This restaurant should not be missed when visiting St. Martin. It was absolutely delicious. I 100% would go back. I had the best bisque soup/crab cake/sushi appetizer, as well as an amazing main course (shrimp & scallops). Great staff & great wine.

We had great meals and great service. Indoor with an outdoor feel overlooking the canal. We were 8 seasoned travelers and were all very pleased.

This used to be our favorite place. We went every year. The maître d' and co-owner retired. His absence is obvious. Food still good quality but service was abysmal. There are many places to go with similarly good food, better atmosphere and superb service.

We've dined at Mario's Bistro several times in the past year and each time has been a splendid dining experience. Mario's serves eclectic, contemporary French fare in a lovely setting. The menu varies each season and often there is an Asian influence. There is usually a seafood special which can range from bouillabaisse to a chowder-inspired seafood stew. The seafood... More

Good restaurants are plenty on the French side of St. Martin, though many have a hard time differentiating themselves from one another. Mario's, on the water in Margot, achieves this with some Italian and Asian influences on the French fare that is typical of St Martin. Reserve a table on the water if possible.
