You will crave the pastries, the cafe au lait and the shaded deck on the bay

This bakery is one of the best I have visited for a long time. The fresh baked baguettes, round loaves, sweet pastries, quiches, sandwiches, tarts, cakes...I could go on. Trying to avoid a heavy meal in a touristy part of Philipsburg/Marigot , we found this place . We had a huge chicken sandwich and a baguette. Both were fantastic . The baguette was as good as I've ever had . Total was $8 US . We ate on the pretty patio outside . Wonderful ! We didn't sample the... More

They get a little overwhelmed with too many customers, but all good, sweets, quiche , excellent.. Food just as good as remembered 8 years ago.

On my visits to Saint Maartin I wake at first light and every morning and walk to La Sucriere on the deck beside the lagoon with a cafe au lait and a steaming croissant, and buy a loaf of almond bread to make sandwiches to eat on the beach with a bottle of rose. I can't imagine a better way... More

This is where I hang out with some of my hiking buddies after a long hike on Sunday morning. Their coffee is great if you like a hearty French coffee. The pastry and fresh baguettes are delicious. The view of the large water front deck with boats anchored or cruising by is magnific. And a gentle ocean breeze from Simpson bay... More

Excellent baking, just like a real patisserie in France. Bread is superb, and the baguettes have lots of choice and are delicious. Enjoyed croissant too. Had a good coffee first time I visited, but second time it was quite weak and did not enjoy it. Lovely open are at back gives straight onto the lagoon. Shaded and cool in afternoon... More

Located in Simpson Bay past the bridge on the way to Cole Bay on the right. Parking is tough but worth it. They are always busy with a really good spread of fresh pastries and sandwiches. The cappucino is perfectly done with a nice foam to it. Order inside (which is always a little chaotic) and then walk through and... More

Each year just before we drop off the rental car we always stop at L'Sucriere for a couple sandwiches and a pastry for our wait at the airport. The bread is just baked fresh and the pastries are to die for! Quite reasonable prices and friendly service!

We have breakfast here every morning when on the island. The fresh pastries and the setting are just great. Calm and comfortable. Love it! Order the pastries and sit out on the back deck on the marina.
