Description: Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!

We have hoped to come here for some time. It was a treat from start to finish. When we arrived we walked up into the restaurant which is an oasis of calm. The staff were lovely, very unobtrusive, but attentive. The food was fantastic, especially the Tuna starter and the chocolate indulgence dessert. We also really enjoyed the homemade bread... More

Thanks for mentioning our 'unobtrusive but attentive' team. Not everyone gets it and it's something we work very hard on. More

Had a chance to visit Boucan Hotel last Year (June). It was only for Dinner but we had a terrific time. Great service, terrific staff but the main attraction has to be the view of the Pitons.

This restaurant is like a hidden oasis within what is already a paradise! We had a tour of the south of the island and made a reservation as something a bit different and opulent. Boucan did not disappoint! The setting is just beautiful with a clear view of the Piton. And the food every bit as photograph worthy. Each course... More

We stopped here for lunch whilst touring the island, with our 2 children (14 and 9). You walk up the stairs into paradise! The restaurant looks over one of the Pitons and the setting is just "wow". The service was very attentive and the food just gorgeous. The highlight has to be dessert, we had the story of chocolate and... More

We agree, far better to learn from eating 'The Story of Chocolate in Ice' than reading a book about chocolate! More

Came here after having lunch across the street for dessert and drinks. Both our desserts and drinks were excellent. BF had a decadent chocolate mousse and even more decadent mudslide drink. I had a warm banana bread and the best chocolate martini. The service was very friendly and attentive. The view was amazing, we could have sat there all day!

Truly excellent lunch in a gorgeous setting. Bread with dips, salads, main courses, and desserts were all flavorful, prepared well, and beautifully presented. The service was fine, but not as great as the food and setting.

Awesome views and food. We could smell chocolate. We went with our teenage sons who couldn't wait to go back

The aroma of chocolate comes from the conch at the side of the restaurant, where we are making chocolate from estate cocoa by grinding them up between granite rollers. The aroma is insanely intoxicating! More

On Christmas day, we canceled our reservation at the Dasheene at Ladera because they had a fixed price $75/person menu which we weren't told about in advance so we went to the Boucan restaurant at the Chocolat Hotel without a reservation and they were very accommodating. The ambience, service and menu is wonderful. Every dish has a dash of cocoa... More

We came here for a change after eating several nights in the Dasheene restaurant while we stayed 6 nights at the Ladera resort. I talked my husband into it, hoping for a change of scenery and unique food. When we arrived just before our 6:30 reservation the restaurant was empty. They would not seat us at a table, so we... What a shame, very disappointed you didn't enjoy. Our desserts are usually something you can bank on - we make the chocolate direct from the beans we grow around the restaurant - so the flavour is quite special. More
