Description: Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!

Wow! The way they incorporated cocoa into all of the dishes was exquisite! It was exciting to learn about the process of cocoa and chocolate before we ate. And the restaurant smells soooo good inside ^_^

Went there with a group of 23 and went on the bean to bar tour. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour, especially making their own bar of chocolate, how cool is that? We then had lunch from a set menu, where everything had a connection to chocolate. The food was served as a piece of art with everyone taking photo's, and... More

We had lunch at Boucan as we were staying across the road at Ladera Resort. The food at Boucan is quite interesting as every dish features some aspect of chocolate. While the food was quite good and the setting was very hip and also featured a great view, the downfall of this restaurant was the service which was incredibly slow.... More

Excellent food, imaginatively conceived and presented. Helpful but unobtrusive service. Laid back but classy feel.

The theme here is chocolate, which shows up--in some form--in most of the dishes. But don't worry, they don't all taste of chocolate! We had a wonderful cold almond soup (with garlic?), followed by curries in pita-like wraps, accompanied by plantains and other local vegetables. We were so full that we had to pass on the scrumptious-looking chocolate desserts! I... More

OMG this place was so so so so so good. We ate here as a family of 5 (all adults) and had the best meal. Loved the environment too- open air, amazing scenery, etc. The chocolate dipping sauce with bread is amazing and I would love love if they would sell it! I had the Dorado fish and it was... More

We had the Tuna Appetizer, and a delicious salad that had papaya in it. We ate a bit light because we had a late lunch at a local place. However, we saved room for our dessert, which was outrageous, the Lava Cake. Would surely go back for any meal!

Awesome view of the Piton and ambience was great. We liked their open kitchen. Food was good as well. I tried one of their drinks - Coconut water & Rum - not so great. But my wife tried their Cacao Martini - awesome!

The décor is open air with piton view. While there is not a sweeping ocean view, the forest and village lights are beautiful at sunset. The lounge area is a great place for a drink and appetizer. The restaurant theme is chocolate-infused menu. Each item we tried in two visits was unique and absolutely delicious. The bread came with spreads... More
