Description: Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open...
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!

Chocolate Grinder!!

We tried Boucan for Breakfast and Lunch, neither disappointed! The chocolate grinder, was awesome! I would definitely recommend getting some chocolate while you're here, they know what they're doing. We were more than happy to eat here!

Beautiful setting, great service, excellent food! The best part of the meal, for me, was dessert. My husband & I shared the Chocolate Lava Cake....we were told it would take 15-20 mins to prepare & since we were in no hurry (vacation mode), we were very happy to wait....and it was definitely worth the wait! The only recommendation I would... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We did the tour of the estate and chocolate making in the morning and came back for dinner in the evening. Various chocolate infused cocktails to begin with and then over to our table looking out over the Petit Piton. Although it's not cheap it is certainly very reasonable compared to... More

We ate lunch here after the Tree to Bar experience, and wow! The view is stunning, and the decor of the restaurant is lovely too. Everything has an element of cocoa. The fish and chips is delicious! Sometimes the food is quite bitter, I had the Chocolate Genesis for dessert and I have to say, I never thought I could... More

We ate here as part of an excursion and LOVED it! The atmosphere is amazing and the food to die for! I highly recommend the chocolate martini. It was the best I have ever had! Great time here!

Gorgeous restaurant, wonderful customer service, gorgeous views, inventive cuisine…that unfortunately just tasted bad. Our family of 4 loved the idea of a cocoa-based restaurant (where all the items contain cocoa is some form) and the locality and sustainability of the products used. Unfortunately, the dishes we chose just didn't taste very good. My husband had a steak that was overdone,... More

Very good food, especially if you like chocolate/cocoa. Nearly every selection had some sort of chocolate/cocoa incorporated into the dish. Service was fine.

We dined at Boucan and were hugely disappointed before we even got there, not least because we were charged a $100 (US) just to make a table reservation for 4. Worse still, the management expected me to make the payment by completing, signing and returning a payment form (with detailed personal information, credit card details and signature) which was emailed... Very much enjoyed the meal. Fantastic views. The staff were super helpful and it had an amazing array of menu options. Not too expensive and worth it. Would've been good if they sold hotel chocolat chocolates separately but after a three course meal it wasn't an immediate priority.
