Description: Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!

We stayed at Hotel Chocolat for our honeymoon and ate breakfast at Boucan for 5 days and a couple dinners there as well. Ladera is right across the street with a better view of Petit Piton but we preferred Boucan because of their cuisine that made creative use of cacao and chocolate (chocolate infused butter, chocolate dipping sauces, a cacao... It was a bit pricey for bbq but the setting makes up for it. The chocolate desserts are do die for. The service was good as were the drinks.

First impression was WOW what a view of the Piton as soon as you reach the top of the stairs – made climbing the steps from the car park after a 2 hour drive from Rodney Bay worthwhile! Our first time to Boucan restaurant, we arrived for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find it was not packed to the... More

Had a very nice meal at Boucan. The menu is definitely interesting with the way they incorporate chocolate into each course. The creme brulee was excellent. The entrees were very good. We were disappointed with the service. There were only 3 other couples in the restaurant when we were there. There were at least 5 wait staff working at the... More

Same menu everyday....everyday...it never changes.... Chocolate bread for every meal. Same breakfast everyday. Don't get the barbque buffet for $300. Just go someone else for dinner.

Hmm, sounds like you went to a different place? The breakfast menu offers a wide variety of options every morning with fruit varying by harvest too. The barbecue event is once a week and costs $50 per person More

We recently had dinner at Boucan and were very pleased with our experience. First of all, the view of the Pitons upon entering the restaurant was stupendous. As others have said, definitely worth getting there before sunset. The menu has elements of chocolate in most dishes. I thought it would be cloying or overly sweet, but it all works. Fresh... More

The restaurant is really beautiful - great outdoor dining. The menu was one of the more creative we came across during our week on St Lucia.

We ate at this restaurant last night... (We are staying at Sugar Beach). We were pleasantly surprised that it was much cheaper than our restaurant choices at Sugar Beach and it was nearly as good quality food. Also there was no added service charge or vat charge (I do prefer to leave my own choice of service charge rather than... More
