We were on a tour with Sunny Lea and asked to eat somewhere that the locals go to eat. It is very affordable in comparison to other places on the island. You can eat in or take away. The menu is short. There are only about four choices including the national dish, goat water. The food was good and large... More

We enjoyed People's Place several times while on the island. It was affordable, consistent, and good. You will definitely be full and meet many of the locals as they swing by the place.

Stopped here on a Friday after a morning of diving for goat water and roti. The goat water was very good, rich and brown, allspice and clove, with crunchy bread to dip in it, the roti was tasty as well. The place is small but nice and we the owner, John (?) stopped to visit and share some information about... More

In truth its no more than a hut my the side of the road, but the owner, clientèle and ice cold beer make it a perfect place to stop by on the way back from the north. Easily recommended.

We did not know what to expect of this tiny blue shack like building with 4 or 5 plastic tables. Glad we followed the reviews and ventured inside. We were welcomed like friends by John the owner who has a loud laugh and enjoys sharing stories and spending time with his guests. He seems to know everyone on the island... More

A real island experience. Excellent food with great people, both local and visitors. A real example of the charm of Montserrat. It's like a small town, you get to know people; and The People's Place is where to do it. Great food in a relaxed atmosphere.

John the owner is one of a kind. He is so personable and easy to love. "Do it once, Do it right" is his motto. We had a couple of really great meals followed by drinks and good company. John even gave us a ride back to our house after dinner one night. The locals frequent this place so it's... More

We stopped in for lunch one day after to visit to the exclusion zone. John, the owner, welcomed us in, got us some cold beer and then made us a lovely meal. The food is local. I had a delicious fresh fish that was served with many salads. My husband had an equally tasty well prepared meal. After our visit,... More

Not much to add to the previous reviews - we visited the People's Place based on the reviews here at Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. It's a happening place - with locals and tourists coming and going it's a hub of activity and socializing. Best luncheon fish on the island and they have an adorable pet cat for those missing...
