We went on a random Monday afternoon in December and they were cleaning up with all the food packed away.
My best friend is Puerto Rican, and this was just like his mom's cooking. Fantastic food, very casual atmosphere and the cheapest most filling lunch on the island. Highly recommend.
Get there as close to 11am as possible. Once they run out of a dish, it's over!!! However all the food stays hot and fresh.
For what it is, a mid day weekday cafeteria, it can't be beat for money and reasonably tasty food. They pull it out of the kitchen so fast the food does not have time to get old. Very popupar with locals. The best of the budget places to eat in Isabel II.
The spelling on the sign is Shaunaa's and in the phone book is Shauna's but Shawnaa's seems to show up more. Simply very good puertorrican food. Very popular with locals for lunch. Go early since food tends to go fast. A different menu every day, except rice and beans that they serve every day.
Grabbed lunch there shortly after arriving on island and getting our rental car (agency employee recommended the place). Food was really tasty and very substantial (think pork, rice, beans and plantains). Very tasty, basic comfort food for a reasonable price. Go hungry!
The best meals we had in Vieques. We ended up going there two days in a row even though we were staying in Esperanza. We went after our mornings at the beach. Great food options like carne guisada, ribs, rice with habichuelas, chicken wings, veggies, etc. And really affordable. We were starting to think we weren't going to get a... More
