Great ocean views, great lunch at Esperanza

We arrived at Vieques by air, and we were hungry so we headed South towards Esperanza. We noticed that Bili was open for lunch. Beautiful, open air, as most restaurants in Vieques, place for lunch and dinner. We're were taken care of by Hernan, the headwaiter who took us in like family. The 'maho... read more

Really enjoyed the waterview and light atmosphere. We stopped for a late lunch mid-afternoon and ordered more than we needed. The portions are generous. Neither sweet potatos or homemade chips that were listed on the menu as the side for our sandwich was served. Hamburger is too thick to eat easily...use the fork.

We headed to Bili our first night on Vieques, expecting a dinner which would set a high bar for other meals to come here. Instead, we found very average food at best, and service that failed on many counts, including (but not limited to): 1) after asking beforehand to confirm that the seafood paella my husband ordered and my dish... Great place to enjoy fine dining and local flavors. We ordered the black bean dip with the plantains and were super pleased with presentation and the flavors. I ordered the red snapper over the gnocchi with conch and shrimp, so delicious!! My husband had the steak with blue cheese mofongo, what a different concept, but it totally worked! Overall it... We like an authentic experience when traveling, and the Vieques natives recommended Bili. We were not disappointed. Hubby had the paella, which had a mysterious earthy flavor I couldn't put my finger on. I ordered the skirt steak, which was good medium well rather than my requested medium rare, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5. Quaint... More

We went for a family dinner with 7 adults. The selection of food was amazing. It all sounded delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food tremendously!! We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Saved the best for last and came on our last night in Vieques. We were a tad veggie-starved by that point of the trip, so really appreciated the lovely salad with coconut dressing. Also very tasty yuca bites with aioli for appetizers. And then, a glorious seafood paella for our main dish, complete with half of a caribbean lobster. Very... More

OK, this restaurant was not our firts option in the list when we get to the "Malecón Esperanza", but bad attitudes of the waiters in restaurants around make us change our minds. From the beginning to the end we had very good attention from the waiter (a guy from Chile), he was excellent. The food was good, but a lot... More

I dont like the service, took like 2hrs. Service was horrible, if you are at Vieques skip this one. Awesome alternatives around

I've been here a couple of times and it's a nice place to seat and have lunch as their best plates are wraps, sandwiches and salads and you can enjoy the front beach view as well.
