We went to Bananas on recommendation from a friend. Since it was open all day it was the best option for us since we had a Bio Bay tour that same evening. The service was good despite "island time". I ate a Caribbean salad which could have served 2-3 people, but was delicious. My boyfriend ate a mofongo stuffed with... More

First night, had Mahi bites, Gorgonzola bread & spring rolls. Spring rolls almost inedible (flavorless). Met a couple next day who had same reaction. Next night had sliders & calamari. Calamari was good, sliders were the best!

Comfortable place. Sit outside facing the action on the street and malecon. Banana Colada is yummy. Coconut-crusted fish sandwich was delicious. Nothing particularly special here, but reliable food with friendly staff makes it worth checking out.

We had lunch here the other day. It's a funky, bo-ho sort of place, across the street from the beach in Esperanza. Not much on atmosphere, unless you like Swiss Family Robinson style decor. That said, the food was decent if not good. One of us had a Shrimp Cocktail which contained 4 shrimp and was $ 9. Another had... More

Every time I visit Vieques I have to make at least one stop here. Everything I try tastes awesome but I specially liked the "Vieques Sliders" (burger sliders with arepas instead of bread), and the "Death By Chocolate"... do I need to say more?

Definitely best location at the heart of the Malecon. Relaxed atmosphere, great food and great prices, too. You'll always make new friends and see old ones at Bananas. It's high on the list!!

We wanted a casual meal after our (magnificent) bio bay tour, and stopped in at Bananas because it looked like just the lively, casual type of place we wanted. We found the cocktails to be sub-par, and the food worse. Rice and beans, which I could devour daily on the island, were a strange concoction of some kind of orange... More

One of the great waterfront restaurants of our earlier days on the island. Unfortunately in recent years it had succumbed to mediocrity. But, no more. Bananas is back with an interesting new menu and good service. Good salads and seafood tacos, wraps, and sandwiches. Good bar. I understand they plan to have fine Dining upstairs. Since they have one of... More
