We also agree with the overall consensus on this restaurant. A very good meal, reasonably priced with a view of the water. Bananas is on the main road in Esperanza and one of a number of restaurants. Not very much for ambiance, but you can eat outside which was very nice. Mostly local fare, but it included a paella dish... More

We took a break from the beach to go here and have lunch. Everything was really delicious and fresh. They have a special frozen banana drink...can't remember the name. It's delicious, and very strong!

Ate here on previous trip to Vieques. Average bar food on the Malecon. Read about the new ownership and decided to try it again. Pleasantly surprised. Met and seated by pleasant hostess (Cindy),great wait staff and much better menu selection. Also many nightly specials. Food was brought out timely and was delicious. Would definitely return!

Stopped in for a casual dinner and was pleased to see that even though it's basically bar and grill food that dishes that were gluten free were marked on the menu. Hard to find that in Vieques! My husband (not GF) loved the fish and chips and I thought the Caribbean chicken was pretty good too. Yummy rice and beans... More

Prices and friendly service kept us going back, along with tasty food. We enjoyed the blackened snapper sandwich and great coleslaw. Plus, they pour a healthy mixed drink. Stay away from the wine and fancy drinks. Good family spot.

the food was good, the servings a good size and the waitress a lot of fun. you can sit under umbrellas at the road front which might be noisy at times but also gives you an idea of life in Esperanza

Huge platter of the best conglomeration of seafood with a huge scoop of Mofongo in the center. Great atmosphere, great service and excellent prices. The menu was extensive which was another reason why we ate dinner there more than any other place on the island. Save room for the disgustingly delicious brownie/ice cream dessert!!
