The food was delicious. One of the best Mofongos I have ever had. The appetizers were delicious and very fresh and the fish was fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend.

We went for the first time to El Capitán this week to celebrate my birthday. What a great way to begin the celebrations. The employees offered excellent and fast service. Everything we ordered was wonderful. We began with the Ceviche and Calamari rings, it was served very quickly. I had the catch of the day and it was splendid, it... More

Ate here twice during our recent trip to Dorado. Both meals were good! Had lobster, grouper ceviche, grilled fish, lobster stew and whole snapper. All were great. Service was slow, but adequate. Go here for the excellent seafood...the best we had while in Puerto Rico.

El Capitan is the best seafood restaurant. Ever since it opened we make it a point to stop there first for dinner when we come to Puerto Rico. A true captain knows his fish and make no mistake Q is for Quality. John & Sarah Hastings, Pennsylvania

We had the pleasure of dining at El Capitan last night. We went on the recommendation of our hotel. While the exterior of the building and it's location may not lead you to believe it, there is magic happening inside. We were not disappointed. My husband started with the conch, octopus salad which he enjoyed a great deal. He then... More

After enjoying the happy hour at the Embassy Suites, we used Trip Advisor to recommend a local place for Puerto Rican food.EL CAPITAN is the place for delicious seafood mofungo ! The lobster mofungo had large chunks of lobster in a delicious sauce! The shrimp mofungo was moist in a criollo sauce with prawns buried inside! Don't let the outside... More

Don't let the facade of the building deceive you not the location. It is right off the back of the Dorado Hospital or Banco Popular. The place is an average restaurant but the menu is quite unique. They have a good selection of entrees and wines. Good place to have a nice quite dinner.

We have been going to El Capitan since it opened a few years ago. El Capitan is a family owned and operated restaurant that offers great puerto rican favorites such as Chillo Frito "Fried Red Snapper" or any other local fish most caught during the day. They place whatever they catch in ice in front of the restaurant, yesterday the... More
