Great mojitos and tapas!

We were staying at El Covento, so we had drinks there 1 night (great mojitos!) and tapas and wine the 2nd. I had a wonderful gazpacho and a very good ceviche. It was very hot even outside and don't forget your bug spray! Like everywhere outdoor in San Juan, the Mosquitos are very hungry!

beautiful historic location. hot outdoors but in the center of the courtyard of the El Convento hotel under shade trees. Attentive service. Delicious tapas - espeically the croquetas and the gazpacho. long lunch and very relaxing and quiet

I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, but it was a little overpriced for what they offered. The drinks were awful and our waitress was rude and rushed us through our meal. The food was good, but next time I'll eat at another restaurant.

The menu is varied and plentiful here at the tapas restaurant inside the Hotel El Convento. The service is wonderful and the portions are divisible. Enjoy a taste of Spain in Old San Juan.

Reunited with a good friend and her family at this Restaurant They were staying at "El Convento" so we decided to chow some lunch al "El Picoteo". The service was good, the food was also good, the environment was awesome! It was a lil' bit pricey for the portions, but c'mon is Old San Juan, also there were some flies... More

I went again to this place because the first time I came the tapas I ordered, worth it. But this time not, I ordered two different "pizza" or coca and taste not good enough for the price ($16.00 each one). The pizza bread taste like frozen one. The only thing I like it was the service. Also the cheese don't... More

Nice open air setting within the courtyard of the hotel. Only problem is if it is really hot, you have to find a seat with a breeze otherwise it can be a little stuffy. In terms of the food, it is very good. Shrimp plates were fantastic as was the paella. Nice staff.

Picoteo is located in "El Convento" hotel in Old San Juan, but it is open to all public. It is located on the 3rd floor of a big plaza, so it is an open setting with a nice breeze, but there is no A/C. We enjoyed a variety of puertorican appetizers and they were all delicious. My favorite was the... More

Great food and atmosphere. It was a little on the expensive side, but the tapas selection was good. We should have stopped before we ordered the Paella as it was too much food at the end. The Sangria, house specialty, was the best that I have ever had.

We dined here while staying at the el Convento. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic. Lighting is beautiful. The menu offered an adequate selection of both cold and hot tapas. Most of our selections were very tasty. We actually ordered one cold tapas and two hot. The hummus was outstanding. My only complaint would be the cost. As I... More
