Wow!

All our tapas dishes were delightful ~ but ~ the Tres Leche was beyond description. Absolutely the best on the island (and I've made it a personal mission to taste as many as possible [for the last 22 years].

We stayed at the El Convento Hotel (which was wonderful) and ate three meals at El Picoteo due to convenience. The paella was average as was the service. Other meals we had, various tapas and the pizza were sub-par. The pizza was seven inches in diameter for $17. It was a greasy mess with the cheese - not good and... More

Very relaxing place to step out of the sun enjoy cold beers and fresh tapas. Items were pricey but quality was high. When asking about the size of ceviche we were told about a cup so we ordered 2 tapas each but the servings were actually more generous.

This is my favorite restaurant in old San Juan. I went here years ago on business and loved it. We took a cruise with a stop in Old San Juan Puerto Rico. I found the restaurant once again and was still as pleased with it as before. It is located in Hotel Il Convento at 100 Cristo Street, Old San... More

Nice ceviches, chorizo and other tapas! Cubano Viejo (their Mojito made with sparkling wine instead of club soda) was delicious. Charming service. Fun and lively Flamenco performance!

I have eaten here 2 other times. The food was good but the atmosphere was not the same. The servers seemed to just to be order takers with not much help in explaining the menu. Three of my friends have never been here. The sharing of appetizers was fun. We enjoyed most of our choices. We ordered the octopus as... More

We had lunch while waiting for our room to be made up. The tapas were very nice being a combination of traditional Spanish tapas combined with Puerto Rican flavors. The location on a terrace within the Hotel El Convento was very pleasant. Unfortunately while we were lingering over our drinks and food the waitress decide we had finished our drinks... More

After a very, very active day exploring Puerto Rico, we were kind of pooped and also hundry. We had originally planned to take a taxi to a restaurant further away, but decided to just try this place since we were staying at El Convento and this is part of the hotel. We figured we could just have a few tapas... More
