I'll admit I went in just because I was hungry and it was close. I wasn't disappointed. Decided to sit in the bar, and the bartender was super courteous and gave us good recommendations. Stop by if you want some good food!

We were wandering old San Juan the day after three kings day (major holiday in PR) and there was not many places open. We just wanted somewhere low key to grab a few drinks and some food to pass the time and El Patio de Sam delivered. When we arrived the bar area up front was mostly full consisting of... More

We decide on this place based on reputation and reviews for authentic PR food. This may have been an off night but everything we ordered was bland and very unmemorable. Way too expensive as well.

We sat at the bar and didn't even leave because we felt so comfortable there. The service was good and the food was delicious. The two of us shared a traditional chicken stuffed mofongo in criole sauce with rice and beans as a side dish. Even with the salad & side dish included in the $15, it is still a... More

This was the best hamburger I've ever. So much so that I plan to return to Puerto Rico mainly to share this special place with my wife. It is simply perfect and there's no better way to describe it.

We were wandering around the town after exploring the Fort and found this wonderful place. The food was excellent & plentiful. They had a wide variety which was handy because our son is very picky. The customer service was OUTSTANDING!! We've never been to a restaurant that had such wonderful service and we've traveled all over the world. If we... More

Many of the restaurants in Old San Juan are overpriced and touristy, that's why we were so happy to find El Patio. The food was excellent, and the mojitos were delicious. The waiter was very friendly and made sure that we were well taken care of. My husband loved his burger and said it was one of the best he... More

Order well and you will be happy. The mofongo was recommended by friends who grew up in San Juan. The place has a bit of a tourist vibe, yet had little touches like a tree and their natural plants festooned with glitter for the holidays. The portions are huge. They have the two for one happy hour. The regular mojito... More
