Great little spot for quick lunch

Great lunchtime spot on a Thursday afternoon. We had the antojitos plate as well as pastililleos for appetizers for our family of four, and then ordered the Cubano sandwich and three choripan sandwiches for the main meal. MORE than enough food. The atmosphere was great inside and the service was... read more

Our waitress were very attentive and nice. The food was average. A sandwich was over $10. Kids meal was too simple. I was expecting some good balanced meal fort kids with both meat and vegs.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on our recent cruise ship visit. We tried the mofongo (delicious and interesting) and the smoothies (very refreshing on a hot day). It was not crowded in the middle of the afternoon and we got to chat with the very friendly staff. The place was beautiful and clean. It had a great local feel which... More

My first meal in San Juan was here, and I consider it among the best when trying Puerto Rican cuisine. I had the Mofongo which was superb and much better than that ordered elsewhere. And, the service is great. They try so hard to please!!

El Patio de Sam is located at the corner of Calle San Sebastian and Del Christo. It is a good place for lunch and drink after the visit to the museum and the Moro Castle. I ate there twice, dinner and lunch. Food was good both times and the service was excellent. If you can speak Spanish they love it.... More

We tried dinner there based on our host's recommendation and boy was she right! The trifongo was so good especially the steak one. Salads and appetizers were also very good. One of our best meals during our Old San Juan stay.

We went in a group of 7 and had a range of experiences.. The sandwiches were great. The cuban sandwich in particular.the porkmofango was very tasty.the red snapper mofango so só. Service was friendly, but they messed up the order and were slow. Beers great.

We walked in with 4 stollers. They took us to the back, we picked a table and accommodated just fine. Wish they had larger bathrooms so they could fit a changing table. All the parents all had to change the baby's diapers right there in the middle of the restaurant. Otherwise, the piña coladas and hamburgers were good.

Relieved to find a place that would seat a group of 10 without a reservation. They didn't even bother us that not everyone arrived at the same time. They sat our group at a large table near the back of the restaurant. The server was attentive and very nice about splitting checks. The food was reasonably priced and good, if... More

After a long day of exploring Old San Juan, El Patio de Sam is the perfect place to refresh, have a beer, a small lunch and then head back out. The bartender, Emanuel, is one of the best people we met while in Old San Juan. He was very friendly and took great care of us. We would highly recommend... More
