Decent lunch, decent burgers

Ate lunch here after walking around old San Juan, had food for everyone in our party. Good service with cold beers, what else could you ask for? Burgers were talked about being the best but they were just okay. Others food was hot and tasty and the onion rings were delicious!! Decent place to... read more

If you are strolling along Calle San Sebastián do not stop here to eat. On our last afternoon in San Juan we went for lunch. My child's burger meat arrived raw to the table. The waiter presented a side of honey dijon to me with a bug in it. Thee hearts of palm salad was inedible. The baguette on the... More

We stopped by here for lunch after walking around Old San Juan. We wanted to sample some Mofongo and Mojitos. We were very pleased with flavor and portions of both. We also sampled plantains with salsa, and empanadas. Excellent food and service!

My family and I stopped by El Patio de Sam for a quiet lunch when we were visiting Old San Juan. The restaurant has been there forever (we used to go there when we lived in Puerto Rico in the '80's) and we know it is reliably good. But I ordered a hamburger instead of a typical Puerto Rican dish,... More

My mom and I went here after an afternoon in San Juan. Very fast and friendly service. We tried the passion fruit mojitos (yummy!) and the fried cheese balls for an appetizer. Those things are incredible. Parmesan and Gouda cheese fried in a batter that's a little sweet, served with guava sauce. Amazing. Could have eaten those all night, but... More

As we were on the line to pay for the parking at Ballajà, we see a car cut the line and bypass all of us who had been waiting for a good 15 minutes. We asked around and found out he is the owner of El Patio de Sam. We learned that this behavior is directly correlated to the kind... More

My husband and I had lunch here twice, and I liked the Pastilles (fried pockets filled with meat or chicken), and I had the meat ones twice, and the first time a hearts of palm salad with a huge portion of Palm hearts, and the heavily advertised Trifongo the second time. The Trifongo is a cup shaped item made of,... More

Six of us stopped here for a quick lunch. We reviews saying that the best hamburger in town could be found here. Sorry to say that the previous reviews were way off the mark.
