Delicious Combination

... Of German and Spanish cuisine. We tried selections from both, and we absolutely loved them. I can't wait for my next business trip.

We reunite in family and the cost was very expensive for the food that they promise to be the best. The meals seems that they have it made for days. I don't know where they think that "medallones" are. They give us little pieces of steak and charged us like medallones. The glasses and dishes were horrible!! with lipstick and... More

I don't know why people bad mouth this place. I have been coming here for 20 years and have never been disappointed. The ambiance is unique to Puerto Rico. More what you'd find in Europe. The waiters make you feel special. The food is good, not gourmand but well prepared and tasty. The deserts are very good. The prices are... More

El Zipperle has been around for eons. I have been there a few times in my lifetime. Food was always outstanding, but not this last time. Their food quality has dropped dramatically. Service remains outstanding except I feel that waiters "hover" around a bit too much, making it difficult to have a business meeting. I am willing to accept maybe... More

This restaurant use to be one of San Juan's finest. My last visit was about 8 years ago. I have been here before with my wife and on other ocassions for business meetings. Always very very good. No more for me. This time I went with my wife and daughter. I want to take my daughter to one of SJ... More

Stopped here on a whim. Where do I begin? Nothing whatsoever to write home about. Food was very mediocre. The veal was chopped veal and tough. The paella was dry and over cooked. The onion soup was chicken broth. McDonalds would have been a better choice! Just awful and expensive to boot.

We come back again and again for the "paella" (Spanish rice with seafood). Appetizers (fried calamari, "croquettes") and sangria are also good. The coconut dessert ("flan") is also very good. Very good service in a traditional atmosphere. They have music on weekend nights. A little bit expensive but very good.

El Zipperle is a local classic restaurant, one of those legacy places with a well seasoned staff and decent food. I had the artichoke and sausage appetizer - a bit oily but very tasty. For my first time I tried Mofongo, a mixture of Cassava (Yucca root) and Plantain, with a shrimp blend. While tasty, there was more than I... More

Service is excellent in this old fashioned classic restaurant specialized in spanish and german cuisine. Many private rooms available for any party size. One of the best paellas in town.
