My significant other and I did a bit of research prior to traveling to Puerto Rico and I happened to come across this restaurant on a several different sites as "the" local spot for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. First, the home made soup is served in a little styrofoam cup, and it's nothing special, just chicken and rice soup with some plaintain pieces. The bread that is served was average. The arepas (or flat, fried items) that were served were tasty, but very greasy. I ordered a sliced steak in onions that was tough, lacked flavor, and had... More

This is where the locals eat. Our tour guide told us this is his wife's favorite restaurant on the entire Island of Puerto Rico. We were seated and brought homemade soup, fried bread and rolls. These portions were generous - the guide had to tell the staff not to bring more, we were filling up before our main course arrived.... More

One of the best foods that you can ever have. Very nice people, seemed family owned. Busy but everyone had time for their customer. And above all, delicious authentic Puerto Rican food. Would strongly recommend.

You must go here on an empty stomach! Immediately after you are seated, you are welcomed with a homemade soup, fried bread and rolls. That alone will fill you up! But save some room for the main course because you will not be disappointed. I had the chicken with rice and beans. A hefty portion for a reasonable price. The... More

This is a great local place! Food was excellent. We had a driver take us on a tour of San Juan. He took us to his favorite place for some ethnic food. Don't expect to find any tourists. I can't tell you exactly what I we ate. The menu is in Spanish. It was all great! they had a non... More

My friends and I decided to visit this place for lunch because of all the great reviews. First of all, the neighborhood is shady. And I live in humbolt park in Chicago...anyways later talking to friends who live in Puerto Rico we were told that the neighborhood is dangerous. I didn't come expecting luxury. But I did expect great authentic... More

I have being a Casita Blanca customer for more than 20 years. If your are looking for flavor and a good service you should come here. First after you decide where to seat, inside , at the terrace or my favorite their balconies with street view. You can enjoy people walking on the sidewalk and wishing you bon appetite (... More

I had arrived in San Juan early in the morning and after being on the beach all day, I wanted to eat somewhere that provided local cuisine, and I decided on this place. They started me out with a bit of chicken soup in a cup, which was cute and delicious, then came the appetizers, I then ordered a sangria... More
