After walking around Old San Juan,,,Raices was good place for lunch...touristy but fun with their custom clothing and atmosphere.....Sangria was wonderful....and all the apps we had hit the spot and enjoyable....striped chicken was great and a must to eat...prices not bad either....worth the experience...

My friends and I were looking for authentic Puerto Rican food as it was our first night in San Juan and we had never tried mofongo. We found Raices, an adorable little restaraunt with waiters and waitresses in old traditional attire. The simple metal cups were a great touch. My three friends and I each tried a different meat mofongo... More

We loved this place. The food was delicious, the drinks very very good too. We had an infant and a toddler and we didn't feel out of place with them. The service was excellent too.

With so many choices in Old San Juan, it is hard to know where to have lunch. Raices was recommended to us somewhere along the way, so we searched it out and had lunch there. t is attractive and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful in describing the various Puerto Rican dishes. The lunches come with a salad... More

I had a wonderful meal on my last night in San Juan at Raices, and to top it off I had the best Tres Leches I have ever had. I don't normally eat dessert, but Tres Leches is so delicious and refreshing I had some almost every night in Puerto Rico. Raices was the best!

We stop here for lunch before leaving on our cruise. Though it was late afternoon, the place was packed & we waited for a table. The servers were dressed in original criollo attire. We started with alcapurias made of yuca. The traditional mofongo & churrasco with chimichurri. The chuleta (pork) kan kan was huge but you have to like fat.... More

had dinner Saturday night, arrived just after 6 and thankfully there was no wait. We ate outside and yeah, chairs a little uncomfortable but overall food was good. I had chicken Pollo with mofunga it was good. Chicken was a little dry but the sauce was helpful. The mofunga was an unexpected surprise. Overall, good dinner experience.

Raices is a touristic restaurant where they take the mountain and coast traditions and mix them into one location with typical meals, music, and dress attire. If you were to go to the mountainside and eat with a jibaro or go to Luquillo and eat with an afro-Caribbean, and then come to raices, you would find several aspects that join... More

This place (surprisingly) was recommended by a Puerto Rican friend. It is authentic, in a cheesy, epcot center kind of way. There are outside tables, with a glorious view of a parking garage. As others have stated, the chairs are pathetic. Sitting on a pile of sharpened fish bones would have been just as comfortable. The service was very, very... More

The place has ambiance which is great. The food is good; the service is average. The waiters are very, very nice. The chairs are unfortunately, incredibly uncomfortable. They have to be changed. One sinks onto them and it is not comfortable. The place is too noisy for my taste..but maybe some people like that. Sorry, won't go back. Lower the music... More
