We enjoyed mofongo with chicken in creole sauce here in this delghtful and intimate restaurant. The sangria is also quite nice. It is across from the Convento which is now a hotel.

This was one of the stops on our Flavors of San Juan food tour. We made our own Mofango, learned the history of Monfango and had rice and beans. Food was great. My wife got Sangria that was also good. In the 1500s this was a jail and looks a bit like a tunnel inside. If you don't go here... More

We were not impressed. The skirt steak, was salty. The waiter, did not communicate "favorites". The Sangria, was better than the meal!

We went for lunch and were one of the only tables in the restaurant (I'm thinking this is more of a dinner place?), which could be why the service was so good, but our server was VERY attentive, friendly and accommodating. The food was somewhat expensive but it was to DIE for! We got chicken mofongitos and seafood paella to... More

Stop number 5 on our flavors of San Juan food tour. They brought out wooden chalices with Mofango, garlic and butter inside of them. We then picked up wooden pestles to mash the Mofango into the butter and garlic. After 5 or ten minutes of smashing while we learned the history of Monfango they brought out small plates of pulled... Our family enjoyed a delicious dinner at Rosa de Triana last week in Old San Juan. The paella Valenciana and the gambas ajillo (garlic shrimp) were highllights. The historic Spanish ambience is authentic and enjoyable. Check out the cellar jail cells that date back to the 17th century.

Rosa de Trina was a gem to find. The food was very fresh and delicious. The sangria was by far the best. The service was great and the atmosphere was charming. You will leave Rosa de Trina full and very satisfied!

Small place with a wonderful ambience, in a great location (right in front of El Convento Hotel in Old San Juan, and steps away from La Rogatoria monument in Caleta de las Monjas (walk there - what a view!). Plenty of excellent tapas and dishes to choose from, all prepared in a truly Spanish fashion. Indeed, I think in Puerto... More

We introduced our local relatives to this little place. It is now a must stop for them and us. It is a typical Spanish restaurant. Do not confuse it with Puertorican cuisine.. close but different. Real tapas, not the same as small plates (you know regular food, small plates, big price tag). It is a wonderful stop if you are... More

We got the seafood paella and a bunch of other small dishes and everything was amazing! It was a great spot- wonderful ambience and delicious sangria. I would definitely go back if I'm in San Juan again.
