Best Mofongo in Old San Juan!

We originally stopped by the restaurant on a food tour but it was so good we had to come back before we left! Chicken and shrimp mofongos were especially tasty. And there was great sangria! It doesn't look like much from the outside but wow were we surprised! We went back a second time during our week in Old San Juan. Beautiful courtyard if the weather is nice and a cool inside as well.

We had dinner at Rosa de Triana last night. We decided to have tapas and paella after reading the great reviews on TripAdvisor. While it was good it wasn't anything special for the price ($160 before tip). We had several tapas, and the paella Valenciana with crema Catalan for dessert. It is not a bad choice. The food is good... More

We'd been here once many years before and enjoyed our afternoon in the courtyard drinking a huge pitcher of sangria. While wandering Old San Juan off a cruise for the day we happened upon this little gem again. We love the indoor/outdoor feel of the place. While there is no breeze in the courtyard, you become accustomed to the feel... More

What a delight in finding this place as we walked in hot Old San Juan. Large menu selection of both cold and hot tapas, soups, salads, entrees and desserts. We had delicious gazpacho andaluz, Mediterranean salad (which for some reason included dried raisins), several cold and hot tapas, and their 2 flan choices, coconut and cheese. The cheese flan was not... More

Went on a foodie tour of OSJ. Arrived here around noon. First the good: food was pretty good. I've had better mofongo, but we got to mash our own. That was pretty cool! Neat history of the place. The bad: little bugs bit the heck out of my legs while we were here (in the restaurant). Nothing itched before arriving... More

Beautiful Spanish-style restaurant. The appetizer, Pimiento-piquillo rellena de morcilla was heavenly. We had the Paella Valenciana. It was delicious and the portions were just right.

We tried a couple of tapas, tasted very good. The deserts were good too. But all of us got multiple bug bites there. If we had brought some bug off spray, the meal could have been more enjoyable.

We were hot and thirsty and walked into to this cool very old restaurant. I believe the building it was in was over 500 years old. Had sangria, pina coladas, and lots of tapas. I loved the green olives in wine and the delicious bread.

My wife and I had a marvelous dinner here at the recommendation of a local friend. Everything here was wonderful. We had the homemade Sangria plus 3 great tapas - Mofonguitos de Pollo, Churrasco con Garbanzos and Buñuelos de Espinaca. I would recommend all three! A the recommendation of our server, we finished our dinner with Cavier de Berenjena con... More
