Potato or elbow macaroni salad at $15 a lb is just outrageous (and probably the highest price you'd pay anywhere on the globe for these items). From a tourist's perspective, Kasalta provides great local flavor, not to mention terrific coffee, pastries, and lighter Puerto Rican food. Kasalta is on McLeary Ave in the Ocean Park section of San Juan, and is much more like something you would find on the streets of Madrid or Buenos Aires than in any US city.
