Having been three times in under a year, we are no longer making visits, but pilgrimages. Each time has been a real treat. Highlights of this meal included an appetizer special of squid and chorizo in a light broth of cilantro, butter, garlic and white wine with slices of crisp green asparagus. A meaty and tender hunk of swordfish with... more

We just returned from a trip to San Juan and we had dinner at three expensive restaurants. Budatai, Il Perugino and Pikayo. Unfortunately we saved the worst for last. Budatai was great, Il Perugino was even better and Pikayo was disappointing. The atmosphere is very upscale modern but kind of weird because the art museum is closed and dark. The... more

My wife and I spent 5 days in San Juan for our 25th wedding anniversary and the highlight was our dinner at Pikayo. We arrived about 2 hours before our dinner reservation so we would have the opportunity to explore the the new Museum of Art and the beautiful Renzo Piano building that houses the museum and restaurant. The museum... more

I called ahead for our Wedding Anniversary, when we got there we were shoved at the end of the bar... The music was PUMPING and the atmosphere was everything but nice! The food was so-so but most of all the "NO-SERVICE or better yet the YOU'RE LUCKY I'M SERVING YOU" was absolutely more than I could take. At the end... more

My wife and I read about this restaurant in our guide book and decided one afternoon to give it a shot. Being the gringo tourists that we are, we were in shorts, tennis shoes and tank tops. The restaurant was described as creole – so we imagined pretty much a dive sort of place. Wrong. This place much be one... more

I called the restaurant directly and made a reservation. They repeated my name to me and pronounced it correctly. They did not ask how to spell it. Arrived at the restaurant and there was no host, but I noticed that there were only three names left on the list for the evening. One was my name, badly misspelled (it is... more

The restaurant is extremely beautiful. A bit noisy when they have activities in the museum(there was a wedding going on while we were having dinner). I tried a tasting meny that they offer and I did not find it overpriced for the amount of food. The portions are small but enough to get full. The wine selection was very well... more

We would not recommend Pikayo unless you want the experience. I agree with the majority of the reviews. Pikayo is over priced for the service and food. We ordered a salad, 1 order (2) scallops, sea bass, and shrimp (4 total). The shrimp came out over cooked. We sent it back and they brought scallops (these were good) but were... more

We will compare with a few other haute cuisine restaurants that we have experienced in our current trip to San Juan. The price for a relaxed couple of hours dinner plus wine for two was similar at USD325+/- 50. The food at Pikayo was quite nice/imaginative but pricey. We rate the food 3.5 (out of 5) versus 4.0 at Marmalade,... more
