Awesome Patio, Great Pina Colada

Suppose to be home of the piña colada. Good one but not great. Pretty open garden area. Flamengo on weekend. Missed that. Did not try food but my colleague who lives here really enjoys. I would go back to try food. Of note, the Caribe Hilton here also claims the origin of the piña colada.

Our son had recommended this restaurant to us as he had eaten there when in San Juan with his wife in February. My wife asked if we could be seated in the shade if possible and were shown a table in an air-conditioned room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the flowered patio/bar. The walls sported huge contemporary paintings that... More

We stopped here 2 times. Great food. Great drinks. Friendly staff. They even will store your luggage for a very small fee for cruisers. So worth it to see the wonderful city.

My wife and I were treated to a preview(before official opening) of the new tapas and wine bar upstairs at Barrachina. Wow, what a great experience! The owner, William Mevs and the general manager, Rafael Ruiz treated us to a special afternoon tasting of gourmet wines and tapas. The ambiance was perfect for a quiet conversation with background jazz music... More

My husband and I were here for lunch on Monday! I had a shrimp wrap that was pretty good. My husband had the bean soup which was delicious! The sangria was great too! Service was a little slow but got much better after he was reminded to,check on our food!

My daughter and I visited Barrachina's on the first night of our trip to Puerto Rico in search of authentic Puerto Rican food. The fact that Piña Coladas were invented her was an added bonus! We both had the mofungo, my daughter had steak and I had the combo, with steak, shrimp and chicken. The meat was so tender it... More

Planned to find this place when we visited Old San Juan on our cruise. After a long hot walk from the Fort to the town we were ready for a frosty drink and it didn't disappoint. Found a seat at the bar and had great service. A lively restaurant where people appeared to be enjoying the food and atmosphere. Worth... More

Yes, the Piña Colada was good but the frozen Mojito was REALLY good and very refreshing after a long day of walking around Old San Juan. The fact that the PC was invented here is a huge draw for tourists and it makes the bar a lively place. Most people came and went after one drink. A big plus for... More
