Exceeded Expectations

Stopped on a reference from strangers. We really enjoyed the experience. The Pina Coladas were very good. The service was slow, but the food was very good when it arrived. Stuffed chicken breast (Pechuga de pollo Manchego) & Chicken Fajitas 10/10. There was no line-up - We chose to eat inside, but... read more

I visited Barrachina with my boyfriend on our Carnival Cruise to San Jaun, Puerto Rico. When we walked in, I wasn't expecting much except to try the Pina Colada, since Barrachina claimed to be the place where the Pina was created. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, though. The Pina Colada was, of course, delicious, and the atmosphere was... More

Every dish we ordered was wonderful and the piña coladas and paella criolla were some of the best we've ever had! Absolutely recommend for awesome fun and a great atmosphere! :)

Had a wonderful Puerto Rican lunch and of course the famous, delicious pina colada! Loved the beautiful décor. The staff was really nice especially our waitress, Milca. She was very informative about Old San Juan and the different dishes on the menu. She really knew her job! Very nice experience at Barrachina. Would recommend highly and if we go back... More

Loved this place. We had quite a bit of time between our cruise ending and our plane trip back. This place was recommended to us by the taxi service. For a small fee (tip) they kept our luggage while we visited Old San Juan. We arrived in the morning and had coffee upstairs. Visited San Juan for a few hours,... More

In the early 2000s my place of work was located in Old San Juan. Due to their quick service, good food and great prices made this place one of my favorites at lunch time. Due to a career change I moved back to the USA. After moving back to Puerto Rico on my first opportunity visiting San Juan I went... More

This was our second visit to Barrachina. The food and drink are delicious. Service, however, was a little disappointing this time. Our server, Edgar, was really ineffective and devoid of personality. It was hard to get a drink refilled (either water or alcohol). We were celebrating a birthday and he couldn't have cared less. In spite of this, we would... More

My cousin and I enjoyed some delicious authentic Puerto Rican food. I love the decor in the restaurant and the staff were pleasant and helpful in ordering our food. We both enjoyed the piña coladas very much.

we stopped in here after walking very far in the hot sun. We wanted a frosty drink and ended up having a big lunch. It was so good. Had strawberry coladas that were picture worthy. I had mahi mahi. My husband had grouper w creole sauce. Both were deicious. This is a great place to eat just get a frosty... More

The pina colada with Ron Barrilito is highly recommended - excellent taste. The paella for 2 can be shared by 3 people, lots of meat and seafood. We also ordered a special pork with mofongo (yuca) is also recommended. The restaurant athmosphere is nice and conformable. Excellent service, the waiter (Edgar) really took care of us - his recomendations were... More
