Global flavors. Locally-rooted. World-class cuisine ~ that truly knows its place. At 1919, we are passionately committed to offering up the freshest organic and local ingredients for each and every dish we create. We believe in sourcing all our menu components with social consciousness and always at the pinnacle of good taste. We place the highest value on hand-selecting products that are local, artisanal, and homemade in order to craft food that is truly flavor-forward ~ served up fresh and with a contemporary flair ~ from our kitchen to your table. Subdued elegance in a space generous enough for conviviality, yet private enough to provoke intimate conversation. Visitors to our dining salon will attest: The only onlooker here is the ocean. World class restaurant in the heart of San Juan...

A beautiful new restaurant inside the beautifully rebuilt Condado Vanderbilt hotel. To compare it to a high-end Puerto Rican establishment would not be fair. The 1919 strives to be an international class restaurant - and, with few exceptions it achieves that lofty goal. Eighty dollars for the 4 course dinner is very fair, but supplements and extras bring the tab... More

Walking into Condado Vanderbilt Hotel was like walking back in time. So the experience started immediately. Beautifully refurbished!!! Been traveling to PR for years and it was great to see the building that had been in shambles brought back to life. The food at 1919 was fabulous. A very memorable experience. Started with snapper and tuna crude...wow! My wife had... More

Sadly the restaurant is beautiful- lovely ambiance- off the gorgeous lobby of the Condado Vanderbilt but the food was uninspiring and the service lacking It was a relatively standard menu- nothing really outstanding- small portions- and the service was mediocre. Had to keep flagging down the waiters for water, butter, etc.

Without hesitation, I place my dining experience at 1919, in the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel as, simply, one of the best ever. Dining room captain, Enrique Collazo Seda, recommended letting Chef Juan José Cuevas present his Chef's Table and I would urge anyone dining there, to follow that advice. I also opted for the wine pairings, which were perfect. Servings were... More

Food: We enjoyed the 4-course prefixe. I would recommend the chilled seared tuna, the ricotta ravioli, the salmon, and passion fruit tart. They were each mouth wateringly amazing and I wish I hadn't ate it so quickly! But the best part was actually a side vegetable... the charred lettuce that came with the grilled beef. I don't know how or... More

As I noted in my review of the hotel, I am not easily impressed with food, drink or hotels. That said, have dinner here! The ambience is sophisticated and relaxed, great wine list - reasonable by resort standards- terrific service...just a really enjoyable meal. I can't say its the best meal I have ever had in my life, but I... More

Had a wonderful dinner at 1919 earlier in March! Enrique was a wonderful waiter and our sommelier was so lovely and thoughtful in discussing pairing choices with us. The hotel is so beautiful, with gorgeous 60s chic design elements, particularly in the lounge and bar. Definitely recommend the restaurant for a special occasion or just a special night of wonderful... More

We ordered the chef table and was incredible...My lobster salad was unbelievable, the salmon was outstanding and the chocolate cake out of this world. Great wine selection and top notch service. Thanks Enrique and Luis for the great service.

While this is a restaurant review, I think the renovated Vanderbilt Hotel is really cool - a throwback to old San Juan, old Cuba, or even what you see on Boardwalk Empire. Go early and have a classic drink at the martini bar in front of 1919 (looking at the ocean), or at the port/cognac bar in the front of... More

Some of the best service we have ever had. NY, LA, London, Sydney....who knew this place would be on top??? Every dish was better than the previous one. Great views, food and service. We only wish we didn't wait until our last day or we would have gone twice.
