What a Gem!

I didn't do my usual research before we arrived in San Juan, so come dinnertime, we were starving and didn't have a plan. My husband spotted Ali Baba across the street from the Marriott, tucked behind Starbucks. What a find! The food was awesome. I'm still thinking about the hummus and bread. On... read more

Location: If you're looking at these reviews wishing you could eat here but can't find the location, it's because the location shown on maps is off by a block or so. The restaurant is in a little alley right next to the Starbucks on Ashford Avenue, across from the Mariott. Closer to Calle Vendig than Condodado Ave. That being said,... More

This small restaurant is located right across San Juan Mariott Hotel & Casino in the Condado neighborhood of San Juan. It offers authentic Turkish/ Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. I went with my family on a Thuesday night; the placed full, but not packed. We made reservations beforehand, so that helped a lot. I got the Iskender Lamb. It was... More

They have both and inside and outside section . Though it is all fully covered . The food is average but there dessert ( BAKLAVA ) is Outstanding . The lighting is dim and difficult to read the menu . Portions are a little small .

We recently visited the restaurant with some friends after some time without coming...I had forgotten how delicious is the food: simple, tasty, and with different options for everyone. We are lovers of the baba ganoush, hummus, and their wonderful home cooked bread: very thin and served like a blown up balloon, which when you pinch releases all its air. We... More

we came in because my mom craved turkish coffee (they had it and was good) and we stayed for dinner. It was excellent. Beef moussaka and vegetable moussaka were delicious and baklava was pretty good. Service was great. some people are saying it is expensive but that's relative $20-25 for an entree I think is reasonable

This has shown up on Trip Advisor for quite some time. We had it on our list last year, but they were closed when we tried to visit. There is construction of a Hard Rock Cafe next door, but they are very much open. Their day off is Monday, so don't go there then. We had Babaganoush for an appetizer,... More

Holy cow, this was yummy! We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and Yelp...so happy for that. Just down the street from our hotel, tucked into the backside of a building - look for it! We actually ate there twice on our trip - once for drinks and mezze, once for a full meal. The mezze was great - the... More

We love to eat Mediterranean (also enjoyed Istanbul in old city of San Juan, see separate review), and since this was so close to the Marriott we gave it a try, sitting inside. We had the hummous appetizer, with delicious fresh bread, and a very fresh Greek salad. For main course we ordered the lamb doner kabob, chicken shish, and... More

This restaurant is right across the street from the Marriott and because it is down a short alley from the street it doesn't appear busy so we were concerned about it being good. It surprised us that there was a good crowd at the restaurant and the food is wonderful. We had hummus, tabouli, tzatziki with amazing bread. My husband... More
