The food is delicious- you'll be satisfied with the variety of flavors and "salsas picantes". Great casual concept. Order food and drinks with the cashier, you'll get a number, then just wait a few minutes while your food is out, and pick it up at the kitchen counter. Must try the Margarita!!! Also a must: the refrito and the guacamole... More

I'm not Puertorrican, so I have eaten real Mexican food many times outside of Puerto Rico. After 12 years living here, I've been to Los Pioneros, as well as other Mexican restaurants. In the whole island, I have not found any Mexican restaurant as authentic as this one. I love their food, I love the variety of spicy sauces, and... More

Very tasty "Mexican" food in Rio Piedras but certainly not authentic. It is not a sit down restaurant and the set up certainly makes it clear that one should not expect much; one has to be buzzed in and out and once inside it feels like a 5 de mayo celebration inside a high security prison. Gates and bars everywhere... More

We discovered this place by chance. We wanted Mexican and where we intended to go was closed. When we saw it, we decided to try it and have been going back ever since. Real mexican, cheap, and most of all delicious! Try the Suadero Tacos or the Pastor... However they have an ample menu and we haven't tried it all... More

If you've ever eaten real Mexican food, don't expect to find it here. This is just a typical Tex-Mex. We ordered an appetizer of "Nachos Completos" (chips, beans, guacamole, sour cream, "pico de gallo", lettuce, cheese) ... In fact, these chips were Nachos, the same Nachos that you can buy at the supermarket. If they were real, they would be... More

Its a taqueria, not a restaurant, you have to make a line and order, wait in your table to be call for your food. Pros: real Mexican food, good prices, great margarita, quick service, friendly staff, night security, Cons: few parking in front, but lots in adjacent business. No other business open at night. BL: Best taquearía at san Juan... More
