Good restaurant in historic building

This restaurant is a step back in time. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. The building housing the restaurant is beautiful and you can vision how the Spanish lived centuries ago in old San Juan. The restaurant is in the back of the building.

The FOOD was NOT of the standard they are supposed to provide and service extremely SLOW. We were a group of 8 and had to wait 2 1/2 hour to get our orders

Visit on a Sunday for Lunch; call ahead if party of 3+, order a cochinillo! Small roasted piglet. Just like at Casa Candido in Segovia, Spain. Amazing value, dress casual elegant or black tie, there seems to be a big mix on this. Even saw a few tourists wearing jeans and polo shirt. Amazing everything!

Went there because my husband and I had been craving for Paella for months. It was totally worth it! For appetizer we ordered octopus, it was very good. Not the best I've eating, but definitely top 10. We drank sangria while wating for our Paella. It was so yummy! Would go back!

Very nice restaurant hidden away within a few minutes walk from Castillo de San Cristóbal. Staff and the atmosphere were fantastic, well air conditioned and tastefully decorated room was very pleasing after a few hours of walking through the city. Food was very good and reasonably priced.

Went to eat lunch after we did the fort tour. We found this place from trip advisor so decided to try it out. We were the only ones in the place so that was nice. The ambiance was very nice as well. The menu is pricey so if it fits your budget go for it ! The sangria was excellent... More

We just returned from a all inclusive stay in PR and the one meal that we actually paid for ended up being the best of the entire trip!! Hector our server... More

While visiting on vacation, a friend recommended Casa de Espana. It was absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere. The building is ancient and beautiful, the restaurant is warm and welcoming. The lamb and Galician octopus were top quality and our server was by far the best, most professional we had on our entire trip. He was extremely intelligent on many... More

location is the aft part of the Casa de Espana, nice look into the patio but not stunning. Simple style restaurant, clean, calm. A big TV on one wall. Fried bacalao pastels were deep fried and tasted like potatoe. Langostinos a la plancha were fresh but over cooked.
