Best Local Restaurant

This is our favorite Condado restaurant for local food – and it apparently is for many others as well since there always seems to be a wait to get it – but it’s worth it. The Mofongo is great, and the Puerto Rican Pork Combination is a favorite of ours as well.

I came for the first time last year and HAD to come back for the Crab Mofongo made with yucca (or cassava). It's the right level of garlic/texture/ sauce and seafood in my opinion. Their creole sauce isn't overkilled with tomato puree. Most restaurants I went to don't serve it with yucca. It's okay with green plantains, but yucca makes... More

My husbands meal was tasty. I ordered the chicken and rice and it was way to salty for me. The waiter was accommodating and removed it from the bill. I tasted my husbands rice with pigeon peas and it was seasoned just right so the waiter brought me a side dish at no charge. The food was ok but we... More

My friends had just eaten here so we thought we'd give it a try. My husband enjoyed his food but my chicken and rice was too salty. The waiter accommodated my request to take it back and he brought me a side order of the rice and pigeon peas and removed the original order from my bill. That was our... More

We had already had dinner but wanted a drink before heading back to the hotel around eleven. We also were interested in some live acoustic music and maybe a snack. I was surprised at how busy Orozco's was and was pleased to see the music stand and instruments still set up. We were seated and decided to get and order... More

After reading several reviews we decided to put this on our list of places to eat during our recent trip to P.R. To say I was disappointed as a Puertorrican is an understatement. I recommended two dishes to my non-Hispanic friends and had they known what it should have tasted like, they would have had the same sentiment as me.... More

Ordered Asopao which was tooooooo salty. We had to literally water it down. Wife ordered the red snapper filet which was over cooked. I'd skip this one and walk a few blocks towards La Concha. Across from it is another local Puerto Rican restaurant....their Asopao was perfect, grouper was cooked perfectly, and the mofongo, though not as fancy, was a... More

Definitely go here! We were there twice in our 5 day stay. We had appetizers and mojitos the day we arrived mid-afternoon. Nice croquettes & calamari. We went for lunch on a beach day; had cuban sandwich, mofongo, beers. Chicken mofongo really good, plenty filling, for just $10. Crazy! Just a good down-home place. Would have liked to have tried... This had to be the best meal. Local joint across from Marriot stellaris down two block. unreal. really authentic food. so reasonable. l/2 pitcher of sangria which gave 6 glasses 15.00. food under 20. but aside from that it was a very good place no doubt. go there!!!!
