Great place for lunch or dinner!

We stopped in at the recommendation of a casino worker across the street and were not disappointed. Nothing fancy, with half the dining area open with a nice bar; the other half inside with very cool (too cool, really) air conditioning. My wife had the rice with pigeon peas, I has rice & beans with... read more

I had eaten at this restaurant on a previous trip and remember it tasting better then. The food was okay, but the customer service was poor. I don't think our waiter wanted to wait on us and he didn't actually take our order and only came by the table to drop off the food. I wasn't even sure how we... More

Stopped there for lunch and ordered mojito's and mofongo and both were outstanding. We decided to stop for breakfast and the food was equally outstanding. The reason we went was because it was convenient to the hotel, but made it a meeting place for the group we traveled with.

I went to cafe angel for breakfast for the first time. I was trying different restaurants around the area for breakfast. I guess it was the time around 7:30am, that the employees were being very unprofessional, there was a faul odor at the entrance seating and another strange odor inside the restaurant. I ordered fried eggs with bacon. While i... More

This place is located directly across from the La Concha Hotel in PR. We walked over but be careful crossing the street. The food was very good and at a good price. They could use more wait staff because it is across from a very busy hotel they are very busy. But I would still return the next time I... More

This was our introduction to tostones and mofongo. Both were amazing. We also tried the combination platter which had roast pork, more plantains, and rice with pigeon peas. All of it was amazing. Server was friendly and checked back with us regularly. Would definitely come back again

Very reasonable prices, reliable and tasty breakfast, authentic Puerto Rican food. The dinner and lunch portions are HUGE, so consider sharing an entre after enjoying some of the unique appetizers. Their signature desert is fried cheesecake. One order was just right for 2 people. We ate breakfast there almost every day which was very reasonable priced. Genial staff who were... More

I ordered the skirt steak (very tender and well seasoned) and my mom ordered the chicharonnes(sp) and we both had rice with pigeon peas and sweet plantains. They were about to close, but they welcomed us in, didn't rush us, and the food was served hot and fresh. It would like to go back and try the real fruit smoothies... More

Good attentive service. The location could use some updating. But similar to other PR restaurants. The prices are reasonable and the menu has a wide assortment to chose from. The food in line with the price.
