Mexican Amazing

We ate lunch here and the atmosphere and service were wonderful. The food was a taste tantalizing feast bursting with flavor. We will definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to our friends.

Everyone kept telling us to check this place out, so when we finally did we understood why. The food is incredible, the decor is funky and different, and the drinks were incredible. They do special martinis and margueritas that are to die for.

If you visit Old San Juan and like Mexican food then you shouldn't miss this place. I've been visiting it for years and their food never ceases to amaze me. Two things are a must: Coconut margaritas and "majado de batata y plátano".

Being from Texas we were craving mexican food and we stumbled into la madre! Pay no attention to the naked ladies sitting on the flowers as the wall decoration, just try everything on the menu instead! Ended up eating here twice, flautas and chile quiles were both delish. Pico with chunks of mango was also just perfect. Every one was... More

My husband and I had dinner at La Madre and really enjoyed everything about this place. I wish our vacation was longer so we could have eaten there again. Our server was super friendly and thoroughly explained the menu. There were so many great looking options on the menu that we had a hard time choosing so our server helped... More

Honestly, the best margaritas I've ever tasted, and I've had LOTS of margaritas! The fresh coconut margarita is the stuff dreams are made of! After our first visit, we kept coming back for the great food and drinks. The cheese fondue dip is phenomenal. The entrees are all made with the freshest ingredients (fish was always spot on) and is... More

After a lot of hunting around, we finally decided on La Madre for lunch and were not disappointed in the slightest. Everything was incredible. The decor and atmosphere is excellent and when an adorable little girl brought us our menus, we knew we were in for a treat. The service was very friendly and quick to take care of us.... More

We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and nibble nachos, when we arrived it took over 10 minutes to give us the menu. Then they just had brunch menu and most of the dishes were breakfast. Ask if they had another menu but was told it was not available until 5pm. It was only one waitress , she gave... More

Upon recommendation from some friends, we visited La Madre in Old San Juan. It's a very small restaurant with low lighting and comfortable seating. It had a very southern California nightlife feel with flowers all around. My passion fruit margarita was the perfect balance of sweetness. Order the chilaquiles!

This restaurant was recommended to us by some friends who had dined there the night before. It proved to be all they promised it would be. The restaurant had s very zen vibe to it that I cold really appreciate. The beautiful menus and the lovely flowers were only a few of my favorite details. The white wine cheese fondue... More
