Best. Mojito. Ever.

We just returned from a 10-day trip to St. Maarten, St. Barths, and Anguilla with a one-night stop in San Juan. Hands down--this little restaurant served food and drinks that out flanked every other meal we had on our trip. We just happened to find it by asking someone in a local bar where their... read more

I've gone a couple of times already, the food is always great and I am in love with the tomato soup. But the service, god damn, is awful. They always take forever, and last time we were a group of five and they couldn't seat us. We waited an hour for a table to be free but they kept seating... More

Best food our entire trip!! The enchiladas with pork and white sauce were delicious. Topped with mango/house mild sauce. Relaxed indoor environment with amazing service.

Prior to traveling to San Juan, my significant other and I researched activities, sights, and restaurants. He said La Madre received really great reviews and so we decided it was a definite stop during our trip. What La Madre lacked in service it made up for in food. It was so delicious we went twice in the 6 days that... More

Please...do yourself a favor and eat here! I can't say enough of how great the service, drinks, and food was! We arrived on a Tuesday evening and the place wasn't very busy! It started picking up as the evening went on but the service was still great! I pretty much just let my server pick my drinks and food and... More

A local recommended this place to us, it was very good. Lots of locals...which is a good sign. Tortilla soup is excellent!

My brother and I stopped in for lunch. He had the fish tacos and I had the two small burritos. The sour cream on the burritos was house made and probably the best sour cream I've ever had. My brother enjoyed his tacos as well. Good margaritas made with fresh squeezed lime juice. Bar tender was friendly and informative. Cost... More

Reviews led us to another great place! Our server made us feel right at home and helped suggest great margarita combinations. From another review, I got persuaded to get the Tortilla Soup and I'm very glad about that, it was unforgettable. The server asked if we were into hot sauces and brought out 2 very tasty concoctions. 1 was a... More

Don't go to La Madre if you're looking for a traditional mexican meal, go there if you're looking for great, creative mexican and puertorrican food fussion. They don't take reservations and have limited space so plan ahead, don't go late on a friday night if you want a quick bite. When you get there ask for their signature margaritas, I... More
