For a quick, very cheap breakfast, visit this lunch counter style cafe. I had some delicious cinnamon oatmeal and coffee while watching a local TV station. A fine, down to earth alternative from the more upscale offerings in Old San Juan. I'd return to try the lunch offerings, for sure.

Trip Advisor has been kind to this restaurant, and they use the endorsement of other in their advertisements. Food is excellent, and reasonable. Atmosphere is quite casual, with most people sitting at a lunch counter. Like much of Puerto Rico, Spanish and English flow interchangeably, and the staff are very helpful.

Not very fancy, very basic, very local. The food is super tasty, very fast and very reasonably priced. If you want to have authentic local cuisine, this is where a lot of the local workers eat. The service was very courteous. I had the skirt steak, salad and tostones. It was delicious. My wife had the shrimp mofongo and it... More

Overall, the experience was great. The food was delicious. I had a churrasco with rice and beans with a passion fruit drink and could not resist but want to go back. The service was quick and very good. I would definitely stop by next time I am in the area.

Visited after seeing this cafe on TripAdvisor. The staff was friendly and recommended the grouper and pork chops. The food was very good, but understand this is diner quality, not fine dining. The Medalla Light was super cold and perfect for a hot day. Great place frequented by locals. Go there for lunch.

Found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. Excellent place to eat in central San Juan. The food is amazing food and so is the service. Very affordable prices and their espresso is one of the best coffees I have had in my travels.

This is a cafe where Puerto Rican locals go and there is a reason why, the food is just amazing. Not expensive and clearly they put their own touch to all the traditional foods. They are something special. It is a diner atmosphere and decor but do not let that deter you. This place gets busy and busy is always... More

We loved the food and bustle of this place for lunch. It was crowded with locals so we knew it must be good. Had grilled chicken with rice and beans. Delicious. Would make it a point to go back.

Very good option to enjoy typical PR food in the heart of Old San Juan. Place gets packed, you choose a table or eat at counter diner style. Food is good and good portions, only gave 4 stars because they should eliminate or fix the Yuca Mofongo, it was just bad. Try the platano one, maybe is better. The rest... More
