I was really impressed at the very attentive servers. Probably the most attentive I had in old San juan. Got a passion fruit vodka drink which was well worth my money. Food was good. Not mind blowing. Prices are up there.

We first visited this cafe while walking Old San Juan looking for a different place to eat. But a local recommended this place so we went. We enjoyed our food. The service could have been better but the food was really good. We thought the food was so good but skeptical because we were really hungry so we went again... More

We tried this based on a local recommendation and could not have been more disappointed. The service at the beginning was excellent and the hostess was very nice and attentive. However we are used to local cuisine and the food overall was terrible. The fried pork chops and carne frita were over cooked and dry. The cream of plantain soup... More

Our cab driver recommended this restaurant. I got the steak mofongo and was not crazy about the dish. We were able to sit outside and enjoyed people watching with a glass of wine.

This is a local joint so expect local food. On recommendation I got the mofongo with yuca (cassava) instead of the more traditional plantain. I had mine with seafood and it was exceptional. A bit on the heavy side as I found most authentic PR cuisine to be, but it came with a nice light salad and I had a... More

At the advice of our tour guide, we ate lunch here on a cruise excursion. We had mofungos, an authentic Puerto Rican dish and they were very good. The dish is accompanied by rice and a small salad. The portions were very generous and too much to finish. Good recommendation!

Great location and convenient to San Juan hotels. All food was great. The paella was delicious. Great value. Service friendly

I went there a total of 3 times during my 6 day stay in San Juan. My GF and I fell in love with the Mallorcas. I personally liked the Mallorcas, freshly squeezed orange juice and the frozen lemonade. It's usually really packed in there, so you might have to stand for a while to find a seat, especially if... More

We must have visited on an off night, because there was definitely something good going on at Cafe Puerto Rico, we just weren't getting it. We waited about 45 minutes for a table, which was expected around dinner time, but then after being seated we waited another 30 minutes for our appetizers, followed by another 45 minute-wait for our entrees.... We really enjoyed our dinner here. The Spanish guitar player on the second floor added a nice ambiance to this simple upscale cafe. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were reasonable for food quality and quantity. Drinks were very good. We will return!
