Was not very impressed

Hotel recommended to places, Cafe Puerto Rico and the Parrot Club. We went with the Cafe Puerto Rico and found the food and service to be average. I feel for a little more money we would have had a better experience at the Parrot Club, which is right around the corner.

We had to wait a bit, but the food was worth it - especially the grouper with the creole sauce. Would definetely go back..

We had lunch here on our last cruise, March 2015. I had Mofungo made with a mix of plantains and sweet plantains with chicken in creole sauce. It was awesome. I have been here 3 times each one better than the last. The cafe is small so expect a wait but it is so worth it.

Went for lunch with our two boys. The menu has a lot of local choices and the staff makes good recommendations if you need them like we did. Very convenient location in old San Juan.

You know a place is going to be good when there is a huge line outside the door before they even open. After having several locals recommend Cafe Puerto Rico to us, we showed up right at 5pm when they opened for an early dinner. There was a large line already formed outside. As soon as they opened, the place... More

While in San Juan, my friends and I heard from multiple people that we should check out Cafe Puerto Rico. We got there right when it opened since we heard the place was pretty small. I highly recommend doing that because there was already a line. I got the chicken mofongo in the creole sauce and it was amazing and... More

Yummy Mofongo. The pork monfongo with tomato sauce was really good and the chicken with garlic sauce was ok. Great place for a quick bite to eat. Good price and service.

Stopped here for dinner after returning from a cruise. The restaurant is very small so you will most likely have a wait. The food is very good as is the service. One of the nice features is the "build your own mofongo," which I loved. If you do take advantage of this part of the menu you will want to... More

This was the first time I ever ate Mofongo and I loved it! I ate the beef one and it was so good I could eat it everyday ! We also had the pork chops and rice and beans and they were great!

Yes, this is a touristy place and yes, it's always packed but it's for a good reason. The food is AMAZING and the service is pretty good. I've been here a total of 3 times and each time, the food was delicious. The mofongos are all to die for!
