I had the shrimp mofongo and a mojito, with taxes and tip came up to about $30. The food was ok not outstanding like I've read in other reviews. I think I was tired of mofongo by the end of my visit. It's a lively place and stays busy so get there early. The only thing I really didn't like... More

Cafe Puerto Rico was recommended by many cab drivers and our hotel. The food was very good and you got a decent amount for an affordable price. Will visit again!

The main courses are big. Chicharrones de pollo - crispy fried chicken chunks - was a huge appetizer dish! Queso frito - fried cheese bits - small dish, but satisfying. My buddy had the Bistec Empanado - breaded beefsteak, my other friend had the Churrasco a la parila - skirt steak, I had the Masitas de cerdo encebolladas - diced... More

Being a vegetarian, it can be challenging to find options at restaurants. Our waiter was kind enough to offer the yucca mofongo as a vegetarian variation for the mofongo. Although mofongo is typically made with plantains, sometimes the plantains are cooked with a broth that is not vegetarian. Its always good to ask.

I liked this place enough to eat there alone and then return during my stay with a companion. I had salmon the first night which was good. I didn't much like the fish I ordered the second night, but she ordered a chicken and eggplant dish with a tomato based sauce. It was unbelievably good and I don't even like... More

The chicken mufungo and coconut pudding were amazing and the service was great! We went back twice because once just wasn't enough!

The service here is very good and quick. The place is small, but cozy. I had shrimp monfongo and the tres leches (both of which were delicious!)

After visiting Casa Bacardi & taking the ferry to OSJ we were ready for a nice dinner & anxious to try some Puerto Rican food. My hubby saw a female police officer & asked for her recommendation, and she pointed us to this restaurant. We each had a mofongo dinner (grouper for me, skirt steak for my hubby), and a... More

Me and my husband were looking for a great local rest in El Viejo San Juan, and we found this small rest, it was the best Mofongo I ever had! Mofongo de Yuca it's delicious! Me and my husband went back a couple of days later to eat there again with friends! Service is great!
