My wife and I loved the food and staff at Cafe Puerto Rico. It is small and crowded, but you do have the option of sitting outside and watching the characters of Old San Juan roam by. From the cigar club sitting in their lawn chairs while a cigar maker rolls fresh new cigars under a tent, to people watching,... More

We asked three of the staff at our hotel where the best place was to get authentic Puerto Rican food and this was the restaurant on everyone's list. We were not disappointed. The place is a little small but has a nice covered outdoor eating area as well. I'm glad we ended up on the patio because we got to... More

Read the reviews on this restaurant and had to try. The food is very good and nice portions. The place is small but it is worth the wait. Will definitely go back.

After a recommendation from my hotel, I looked forward to a good Puerto Rican meal. Despite the fact that the restaurant was crowded, service was perhaps better than average. The food was however disappointing. My grouper was so salty it was virtually inedible. I won't be back!

We visited this restaurant and found it packed. We were offered a seat at the bar until a table was ready. We said ok! A short time went by, we were talking and having a good time so we decided to eat at the bar. As soon as we ordered, we were seated out front ( Best Table). We were... More

My husband and I ate here while on a 2-day stay in Old San Juan. When asking our taxi driver about where to eat on our way in, it was the first place he recommended for authentic food, and our tour guide on our Flavors of San Juan food tour (highly recommended!) later said the same. We both eagerly tried... More

Great restaurant in Old San Juan with outdoor seating in the square. The mofongo was delicious! We had the skirt steak and diced pork with yuca. You can choose plantains, sweet plantains, or the yuca option. The service was extremely friendly and house wines were only $5!

The people are very nice, attentive and the food is delicious. Is not a tourist trap! Believe me! You will enjoy the food, the dishes have a beautiful presentation too. If you want to try puertorrican dishes this is the place.

My wife and I visited Cafe Puerto Rico for dinner and absolutely loved it. The mofongo and skirt steak were amazing. The wait staff was very helpful and entertaining. Reservations are a must. Even in the off season. Call before you go. We did and it helped tremendously.
