Tapas and a Show - Fun Night in Old San Juan

Happened upon Triana while we were walking around Old San Juan one evening. We ordered 6 tapas plates for three people which was the right amount. We had beef, shrimp, calamari, plantain fritters and crab. It was interesting that they had ones from Spain as well as Puerto Rico. They were good, not... read more

A store owner mentioned this venue and we were lucky enough a get a table. Most of the large tables were full of locals having family celebrations. We tried a variety of tapas, including a recommended conch salad. Although the wait for food was a bit long, we realized everyone ordered at the same time based on the show. The... More

Visited here a few years ago and was very impressed by the tapas and mojitos.. Service was great! However on this trip we where promptly seated but didn't see anyone for the next 10 minutes.. The restaurant was empty except for one other table.. Husband said it was unacceptable and we looked for another place to eat.. Wish they had... More

We had dinner, there is also a Flamenco show certain days. The guitar player is excellent and sooo funny. Our waiter was hilarious. It was a group of 9, we laughed so much and the food was so delicious. After the dinner, the two flamenco dancers give dance lessons. Wow! We felt so welcomed and comfortable. This was the highlight... More

Mr Marcella waited on us. He is by far the best waiter I've ever come across. His recommendations for dinner were superb. My husband and I had been in old San Juan for 4 days and it was by far the best meal we had. We didn't stay for the entertainment but you can tell by the amount of people... More

This Restaurant set the Bar for us in Old San Juan. It was aclose walk from the Sheraton. We were greeted and served like they valued us as guests. Our supper was awesome (Deep fried Red Snapper was excellent) the guitar music or entertainment was awesome and the Flamenco dancers were very good. For some people they might not enjoy... More

We enjoyed our meal at Triana, mostly because everyone there, especially the hostess and our waiter, were friendly and the service was excellent. The food was OK, but heavy on the rice and a bit light on the fish inside. The dancing is an added attraction, but we were there more for the food.

All the tapas we ordered, covering seafood, meat and vegetable items, was good - not sure of the authenticity factor. There was a decent crowd, even on a weeknight. The dancers and guitarist were really good too!

If you like rice, you'll get it. Triana Tapas & Flamenco should title it's menu book: "Rice". All of us 7 in total were disappointed to see two little shrimps buried under a mountain of turmeric powder colored rice with a fantasist name in the menu book. My daughter who likes to taste local was even more disappointed with her... More
